A move back to this bare 2m may see this one in a better light after he shaped better than the final placing at Worcester over 4f further although he did finish weakly. Yet to win a race over hurdles and whilst consistent does look hard to win with.

Never really got going last season and finished off with a run over hurdles off a mark of 114 which looked a little too testing over C&D. Returns now with the yard in good form and she usually travels well but this mark still looks one that she may well struggle from.

Appears to have been gradually working his way back to form over the autumn/winter and showed last time out that he could strike soon. Shaped better than the bare result at Hexham (weakened closing stages) and has now slipped below his last winning mark.

Made progress on his previous form when taking a respectable second on handicap debut at Uttoxeter showing that a sharp 2m will always be needed. Turned out quickly he was pulled-up sharply in the early stages (lost action; lame); questions to answer for now.

Only a modest sort on the Flat but did manage to win three times and looks to have stamina questions to answer over hurdles (best at up to 7f) on the Flat. Makes his handicap debut here now although the mark looks stiff enough and others are much preferred.

Better known as a modest front-running free-going chaser but has had the odd outing over hurdles of late. May well have needed the run last time at Huntingdon (goes well there) and looks to be rather out of sorts at the moment.

Won a bumper here on debut back in 2014 despite not winning over hurdles she has run some creditable races and shaped well in a similar contest last time at Sedgefield. Travelled well until fading late on but that should have put her spot-on for this off a 2lb lower mark.

Return to form over fences last time out off this same mark mirrored the upturn in fortunes for the yard which have continued since. Due to go up 6lb in the future he can race off his old mark here although it's fair while since he was last seen over hurdles; respected with yard still in good shape.

Forecasts

Focaccia (11/4), Roxyfet (7/2), Druid's Diamond (6/1), Minella Fiveo (6/1), Nautical Twilight (15/2), Jackthejourneyman (8/1), Pixiepot (10/1), Great Colaci (12/1)

Verdict

An interesting if low-grade heat to end the card with some types of interest in it. Roxyfet is a quirky sort but could well make use of this light mark returned to hurdles while Minella Fiveo is another who shaped with promise last time out and should be noted in the market. PIXIEPOT is taken as the suggestion here though after her good run at Sedgefield last time which should have put her right for this off what looks to be an attractive mark. Focaccia will enjoy the return to this bare 2m as will Druid’s Diamond although both have disappointed with their finishing efforts before.
  1. Pixiepot
  2. Minella Fiveo
  3. Roxyfet
