A real mudlark whose last three wins have come in heavy conditions and he loved conditions at Ffos Las when making a winning chasing debut last time out. Stormed clear there after putting the race to bed two out and open to improvement although conditions are quicker here.

Early days with him as a chaser and this is second time around for him in this sphere although he was slightly below-par on his return at Exeter although that was a tough heat. May yet do better in this sphere although this is a tricky little affair.

Looked to take to fences better on his second start over them at Ascot although a strongly run double-figure field affair appeared to suit him much better than his debut scenario. Doesn't look the most straightforward though and this small field may not suit his run style.

Verdict

Just three go to post in this but it’s not easy to sort out with a muddling pace a possibility. Barney Dwan could yet make a decent chaser especially as he gains more experience but SOLIGHOSTER comes from a stable that do well with staying chasers. There’s a slight worry that the ground won’t be testing enough for him (all his best form/wins have come with plenty of cut) but his Ffos Las win was taking and he may provide some value here. Clondaw Cian looked a quirky sort last time out running in snatches for much of the race and a slow run race here would not be to his advantage.
