Has been doing well in these sort of races recently, winning a seller and a selling handicap at 2m-2m2½f since joining this trainer. Not beaten far in another of these at Southwell last time and should make a bold bid once again.
Won a Warwick handicap (2m3f, good) for Nicky Henderson in April, but best efforts since have been when in the frame in a couple of selling handicaps, including when a 15L last of three (6-4 fav) at Fakenham last time. Capable but a bit to prove.
Won a Ffos Las maiden hurdle (2m, soft) around a year ago, but unable to improve on that performance. Looks to have a fair bit to find with the principals here on his return to hurdles after a couple of summer outings on the Flat.
Has been going backwards for some time both over hurdles and on the Flat and although this is less competitive than some of his recent Irish assignments, he is still not easy to recommend.
Another who has struggled to put anything worthwhile in the form book this year. Could be given a chance on some of his Irish form at the back end of last year, but having shown nothing of late he looks worth opposing again.
Without a win over hurdles for two years, but has remained reasonably consistent despite that and was runner-up in the same three-runner selling handicap contested by Minstrel Royal at Fakenham last time. Decent claims if he can repeat that.
Forecasts
Cliffside Park (1/1), Serenity Now (3/1), Minstrel Royal (6/1), Hazariban (13/2), Sporty Yankee (14/1), Prince Kup (100/1)
On paper this has the look of a match between Serenity Now and CLIFFSIDE PARK and the vote just goes to the latter. Despite being worse off at the weights than if this were a handicap, he is a proven recent winner, handles conditions and sees out this trip well enough. Serenity Now has been knocking on the door just lately and is clearly a danger. Minstrel Royal would have a squeak if he can produce his best, though he has a little to prove after his latest run.
- Cliffside Park
- Serenity Now
- Minstrel Royal
