Consistent sort who has won 3-25. Clearly likes Tramore, but has claims on his 2016 novice chase efforts at Leopardstown and Fairyhouse. One to consider despite topweight.
Has spent this year running over hurdles or in higher grade chases. Last few runs offer no clear signs of an imminent return to the form which has produced six career wins, but the handicapper is taking note and he does go well around here.
Useful point-to-pointer who landed a Cork hunter chase in April. Has run respectably since but probably needs some help from the handicapper.
Hexham winner over hurdles (2m4f, soft) two months ago when blinkered and fell there over fences last time when beaten at the time. That was over 3m and, with connections having found the key to him, he looks sure to be a major player.
Better handicapped over these obstacles than hurdles. Not disgraced at Ballinrobe in August, but last two runs over fences have been poor.
Collected a hunter chase over C&D last winter in heavy ground. Has been poor in three handicaps this term and hard to fancy as a result.
Nowadays seems a better horse at Sligo during August, than anywhere else at other times of the year. Last win came in 2013 and others have to be considered more likely.
Landed a maiden hurdle at Sligo in 2015 but little to suggest in all starts over fences to suggest he will be in the shake up.
Out of his depth last time behind Tombstone but it was at least an improvement on anything else we have seen from him. Hard to fancy from 5lb out of the handicap and he may be one for the long term.
Forecasts
Just Get Cracking (5/2), Black Scorpion (3/1), Bitview Colin (4/1), Bard Of Armagh (8/1), Who's Cross (10/1), Star Counsel (14/1), Island Master (16/1), Mister First (16/1), Rightback Atya (16/1)
Just Get Cracking runs to a consistent level, although he is slightly better at Tramore. If running to form he looks sure to be in the shake up for a race that looks uncompetitive. BITVIEW COLIN has taken on a new lease of life lately and is worth chancing in this company. The Hexham hurdle winner looked tired before coming down at the same venue over fences last time. That was over 3m and this is more his trip. Black Scorpion looks best of the rest.
- Bitview Colin
- Just Get Cracking
