Debuts for new yard over a considerably longer trip and after a lengthy absence. Picked up for £7,000 at Goffs in September and needs to have improved greatly for the change of scenery. Rider had a winner over hurdles recently.
Well held since scoring at Kempton in May over 1m3f. No show in three recent attempts at this trip but now 6lb below his last winning mark.
Came to hand at this point last season and landed three races in all including one over C&D. Had a pipe opener here two weeks ago and only 2lb higher than last winning mark. Leading amateur booked so looks interesting.
21-race maiden who has not always convinced in the heat of battle. May have needed it last time but others have more convincing profiles.
Landed two races under this rider during the summer at shorter trips. Did not get the best of runs when tackling 1m6f last time. Honest sort who keeps galloping and remains on a good mark.
Could be considered well handicapped on his best form but a while since we have seen that. Out of form over hurdles recently and yet to win beyond 1m4f on the Flat.
Tailed off on three latest starts over hurdles. Previous form on the Flat suggests he is a long way off his best and last of nine the only time he has gone this far on the level.
Veteran has gone two years without a win and there have been no signs recently that trend is about to be reversed.
Veteran performer had gone off the boil when last seen. Lightly raced over the past two years and needs to prove his wellbeing.
Opened his account in basement grade last time when travelling well throughout to beat Dibloam. Handicapper has not over-reacted and top amateur has been secured.
Inconsistent sort who needs to bounce back from some uninspiring efforts recently. New trip may be the answer but he remains one for the brave.
Goes well around Catterick and scored on good-to-soft ground there two months ago.Up 4lb and best AW run came at Kempton which is a slower surface than this.
Good mount for an inexperienced rider and has now landed three races on different turf surfaces. Yet to make the frame in six AW starts and has struggled off similar marks in the past.
Came with a late rattle to produce a career best last time to finish second to Kaisan. Had a lot to do that day and this longer trip may sway things in his favour with a leading amateur on board.
Forecasts
Dibloam (9/4), Kaisan (3/1), General Allenby (5/1), Strictly Art (13/2), Great Return (10/1), Shan Dun Na Ngall (12/1), Top Diktat (20/1), Victor's Bet (25/1), Elusive Cowboy (25/1), Affair (25/1), Marshall Aid (33/1), Maison Brillet (33/1), Bohemian Rhapsody (40/1), My Lord (66/1)
Shan Dun Na Ngall hit form at this point last year and will be all the better for a recent run. Affair and General Allenby are recent winners but both need to prove their ability on this surface. Kaisan and DIBLOAM crossed swords at Chelmsford recently in a low grade affair where the former came out on top. There should be little between them on these terms and both have leading amateur's on board. DIBLOAM was given a lot to do that day and may have more to offer at this trip.
- Dibloam
- Shan Dun Na Ngall
- Kaisan
