Horse A-Z
Performed with credit on debut at Southwell in March when 6¾L fourth to Royal Ruby, but something presumably amiss next time at Market Rasen. Contested a better race than this on his seasonal reappearance, so place claims on the switch to Polytrack.

9/4
Lacked the pace or the nous in order to get involved on debut at Ascot recently when just over 9L fifth to Nestor Park. That was a competitive Saturday contest, and with experience gained, he should be much more competitive today.

€26,000 Cloudings gelding who is a half-brother to bumper, hurdle and chase winner Red Not Blue. Held up on debut at Worcester in October, but not strong enough to get involved in the finish when seventh of 16 to Skidoosh.
Motivator gelding who made the frame on debut at Taunton last month, when beaten just over 1L by Represented. Entitled to go very close if able to translate that level of form to Polytrack.

Unraced 12th foal by Cockney Rebel out of Doliouchka. Half-sister to a number of winners (predominately juveniles) who include Carrozzina (7f), Right Again (7f) and King's Protector (1m).
Finished down the field on debut at Sandown last month (2m good to soft), showing clear signs of inexperience. Entitled to be wiser now, but cost only £2,500, so a surprise if a few of the others aren't stronger.
Once raced Yeats filly who is a half-sister to a couple of winners including Listed scorer Corcovada. Never in the hunt and tailed off on debut at Stratford in early October.
No disgrace on debut at Market Rasen when 9+L third to Settie Hill (runner up Peculiar Places sold for a princely sum subsequently, and a Hereford winner last week). Out of her depth at Aintree latest, and this is more realistic.

Forecasts

Ar Mest (9/4), Mystical Clouds (11/4), Personal Coach (3/1), Another Crick (10/1), Legend Of France (10/1), Misty Bloom (14/1), Oriental Cross (16/1), Ioweu (25/1)

Verdict

A first attempt on Polytrack for all eight of the runners, so it'll be interesting to see which of these largely inexperienced horses handles this track the best. Personal Coach appeared fairly streetwise on debut at Taunton last month, and a reproduction of that effort arguably makes him the horse to beat. However, others also have reasonable claims, and these include the experienced duo of Another Crick and Oriental Cross, but it should pay to follow the Gary Moore trained runner AR MEST. He was thrown in deep on debut at Ascot the weekend before last, and emerged with credit in finishing 9L fifth to the fairly useful Nestor Park, and looks almost certain to be much more competitive in this lesser contest with that experience banked.
  1. Ar Mest
  2. Personal Coach
  3. Another Crick
