Irish point-to-point winner, narrowly denied in bumpers here and at Newcastle since joining this yard. Likely to make bold bid on hurdles bow with Johnson on top.

Classic Ben22
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: C Gethings(3)| T: S Edmunds
5/4
Has finished close second in bumpers at Chepstow and Sandown since making switch to this yard, clearly has potential but some concern that he failed to get round in two of four bumper runs (one fall).

Craigmor10
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: C Poste| T: O Murphy
16/1
Cost £18,000 after winning an Irish point-to-point (at fifth attempt), beaten 22L on hurdles bow at Ffos Las (3m, heavy) recently. Second contender in this quartet for Olly Murphy, looks second choice on riding arrangements.
Mare was soundly beaten in a weak novice hurdle against her own sex in April at Sedgefield over this trip. Returns from a break now and a surprise should she improve enough to down a couple of promising rivals.

Forecasts

Ballinslea Bridge (10/11), Classic Ben (5/4), Stonebrigg Legend (14/1), Craigmor (16/1)

Verdict

This looks like an ideal starting place over hurdles for BALLINSLEA BRIDGE, a point-to-point winner in Ireland with two fine efforts in bumpers since joining this trainer. The champion jockey just failed to get him up last time at Newcastle but he showed a willing attitude in a rousing finish and that bodes well now. Equally promising is Classic Ben, also second in both bumper runs for his new handler. He did however fail to get around twice in point-to-points and that is enough to sway that vote against him. Craigmor and Stonebrigg Legend both have hurdling experience in their favour but they haven't shown anything to suggest they'll hold the newcomers.
  1. Ballinslea Bridge
  2. Classic Ben
  3. Craigmor
