Not much in form this year to inspire confidence, comes here on the back of an early fall at Wincanton last month. Scored quick double over this sort of trip at Leicester and Doncaster this time last year, would need to see positive market vibes.

Now 11-years-old and appears to be falling out of love with his work. Pulled up in three of his four most recent outings, though did finish second at Ffos Las (2m5f, soft) in October amidst that sequence. Risky proposition.

Likes to be up on the pace and got his wish in Class 4 Novice Chase at Huntingdon (2m4f, good to soft) on second chase start (sent off 100/1), faded rapidly from third last and tailed off in the end.

Showed some useful form over hurdles when trained in Ireland (won a Grade 3). Not anywhere near that form for this yard over hurdles or fences last season but shaped much better on recent comeback at Bangor (2m4½f, soft) to be 11¼L third of 11.

Record over fences is 3-15 and ran well last month over C&D when 15L second (just edging out D'nailor in third). Likes to get on with it and since gone well again at Plumpton (third) over shorter trip. Should give his running again.

C&D winner here in March and remains 10lb higher than that win, returned from a break with solid C&D effort last month in third (just behind Little Windmill) and could easily build on that with fitness boosted.

Teenager gave an exhibition of jumping to score at Huntingdon (2m7½f, good) in October. Not able to repeat the trick raised 8lb since over this C&D and is rated 20lb higher than when scoring here in May. Can still have a say on a going day.

Forecasts

D'nailor (5/2), Little Windmill (3/1), Foundation Man (9/2), Newberry New (6/1), That's The Deal (7/1), Cody Wyoming (10/1), Postbridge (12/1)

Verdict

D'nailor finished just behind Little Windmill over C&D recently as they filled the minor places and, having won over this trip here in March and had the benefit of the reappearance, the former could not be up to reversing the placings. Both should have their say in this but perhaps NEWBERRY NEW, a graded winner over hurdles in Ireland, is ready to showcase his best again after a solid reappearance at Bangor last time. That was as good as anything he's shown over fences and with cheekpieces added now, he can build on it. The teenager That's The Deal cannot be factored out on his Huntingdon win in October, though he's plenty high in the ratings now.
  1. Newberry New
  2. D'nailor
  3. Little Windmill
