Unbeaten in a bumper and two hurdles so far. Seems progressive and though this is his toughest assignment yet he should be able to improve again and be the one to beat here.

10/11
Hat-trick seeker who has improved with each run so far, impressing with a wide-margin victory at short odds at Punchestown last time. In Espoir D'allen he faces his toughest rival yet but should run another big race.

12/1
Picked some good form on the Flat, including winning a Curragh handicap by 12L in similar conditions to this on his final start on the level. Interesting to see how he fares on this debut over obstacles.
4
Horse silk
50/1
Though running well in heavy ground at Gowran last time he is yet to get off the mark over hurdles. Should win a juvenile event in time but this looks beyond him.

100/1
Flat maiden who ran moderately on hurdles debut at Cork in August. Difficult to build a case for now returning to racing over obstacles.

Forecasts

Mitchouka (10/11), Espoir D'allen (11/10), Khudha (12/1), Randalls Ur Poet (50/1), Vanderbilt (100/1)

Verdict

Though his toughest assignment so far, ESPOIR DE'ALLEN should be up to recording a third victory over hurdles here. Gavin Cromwell's JP MacManus owned gelding has impressed in two hurdle races so far after winning a bumper, and is prominent in the betting for the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. In Mitchouka he faces another nice prospect who looks to build on a 15L romp at Punchestown last time, while Khudha is an interesting recruit from the Flat.
  1. Espoir D'allen
  2. Mitchouka
  3. Khudha
