Placed at the Cheltenham Festival in March but well beaten in two subsequent outings including on seasonal debut at Aintree (2m4f, good-to-soft) in October.
Twice a winner over 2m4f here last season but disappointed on his final outing in the spring and failed to complete at Aintree on last months return. Useful conditional jockey in the saddle today.
Four time winner when with Nicky Henderson but well beaten on debut for this yard at Chepstow (good) last month and probably best watched at present.
Finished runner-up at the Cheltenham Festival in March and still in contention prior to coming down over the Grand National fences at Aintree (2m5f, good) in April. One to note stepping up in trip on seasonal debut.
Saw off today's rival Warriors Tale when winning this race last year but disappointed since including behind that rival here in March. Races off a mark 6lb higher than for last years success.
Successful eight times in a 20 race career including over 2m4f at Aintree (soft) last time out. Finished well beaten when bursting blood vessels in this race last year and has to defy a 5lb rise for his latest victory.
Finished a decent fourth at Chepstow (good-to-soft) over an extended 2m7f in October but finished well beaten at Ascot subsequently. Races off a mark 2lb lower than for his most recent success.
Winner on heavy ground at Leicester (2m4f) in February and ran well in defeat twice since including behind a progressive rival at Uttoxeter (3m, soft) on his penultimate outing.
Disappointing last season after winning over 3m2f on good-to-soft ground here in December. Signs of a possible revival in two starts this time around and races off a mark 1lb lower than for his latest success.
Victorious four times most recently over an extended 3m4f at Taunton (good-to-firm) in April. Returns to fences today following a couple of promising efforts in novice hurdles this autumn.
Ran well to finish third over an extended 2m7f on soft ground here in January. Held in three starts since most recently on his seasonal debut at Worcester (2m4f, good-to-soft) last month.
Running well without winning so far this year and stays well having finished third over an extended 3m2f at Wincanton (good) on his penultimate outing. Has to put a fall last time out behind him.
Forecasts
Gold Present (4/1), On Tour (11/2), Warriors Tale (6/1), Bouvreuil (7/1), Crosspark (8/1), Gentleman Jon (10/1), O Maonlai (10/1), Little Jon (12/1), Potters Cross (12/1), Junction Fourteen (14/1), Different Gravey (16/1), No Buts (20/1)
GOLD PRESENT ran well to finish runner-up in a competitive race at the Cheltenham Festival in March and can put a subsequent fall behind him by taking this handicap chase stepping up in trip on his seasonal debut. O Maonlai took this contest last year and is another making his seasonal debut today. Tom George's charge has won twice here in the past and can claim second ahead of Warriors Tale who can put a non-completion at Aintree last time out behind him.
- Gold Present
- O Maonlai
- Warriors Tale
