Has been in the grip of the handicapper since the last of her five wins, at Cartmel (2m6f, good) last year. Now a stone below that winning mark and hinted at a return to form last time out, so has a chance again here with rider's 10lb claim a boost.
Has yet to eclipse his debut bumper performance when trained in Ireland and has not shown much in six starts since coming to England. Back over hurdles after a 36L defeat on chase debut last time and plenty to prove for the moment.
Topped off a consistent season with success at Uttoxeter (2m7½f, soft) in March. Raised 6lb for that and was entitled to need her reappearance back at that venue last month. Back up in trip and dropped 2lb, she could again be a player today.
Moderate performer who managed to nick a race at Worcester (2m7f, good) in July when 66-1. Well held from today's mark when last seen in July and has to prove she is capable of handling both that and these softer conditions.
Was beaten several country miles last season, but has returned in better form this term and broke her duck in a similar race at Uttoxeter (2m4f, good to soft) last time. Raised 9lb for that 5L win, so will probably need a career-best to follow-up.
Irish point-to-point winner who is 0-10 under rules and has been well beaten on both starts so far this term. Has dropped to a dangerous-looking mark ahead of this and after a hint of returning to form last time, a good run here is not ruled out.
0-18 under rules and has been unable to win from lower marks than today's. Raised 6lb despite a defeat of over 6L at Hexham last time and hard to see her being good enough.
Positive that her career-best effort was at this track when runner-up in a novices' hurdle last season, but has not come close to repeating that form and has been well beaten in both starts this autumn. Headgear swapped today but best watched.
Forecasts
Outrageous Romana (5/2), Poetic Presence (4/1), Tara Well (9/2), Flobury (13/2), Cowslip (8/1), Ballybrowneybridge (8/1), Amber Flush (10/1), Romann Angel (16/1)
A weak contest where COWSLIP is probably capable of taking advantage of his rider's 10lb claim and claim a sixth career success. Flobury is a consistent performer in the main and she should be thereabouts again, while Amber Flush can't be ruled out given that she has proved that she can win already this year. Outrageous Romana might be a more serious danger, while Tara Well is another to consider.
- Cowslip
- Flobury
- Tara Well
