Returns here for the third time in succession, having debuted at the track in a bumper (beaten 21L) and then over hurdles last month (beaten 41L over C&D). Needs plenty of improvement and is one to watch today.
Has been making improvement for each start and despite being sent off at 150-1, he ran well enough to be beaten 12½L at Ayr last time. Could finish closer to the prizes today although will probably be a bit more interesting when stepped up in trip.

Improved a little for his hurdles debut when returning to Carlisle last time to be a 13½L fourth (2m1f, soft). No reason why he can't take another step forward here and he enters calculations.

Improved on his bumper debut to make the frame in a similar contest at Newbury (good to soft) last month. Related to winners over hurdles and now makes his debut over obstacles. Should be capable of a competitive effort.
Bought for £25,000 after being placed in a couple of Irish point-to-points and placed in a four-runner Aintree bumper on rules debut last month. Trainer wastes no time in putting him back over timber and he is likely to acquit himself well.

Placed in both a bumper and on his hurdling debut at Worcester (2m, soft) last month, when beaten just a nose. That is one of the best pieces of form on offer here, so even simply a repeat of that gives him decent claims here.

Showed significant improvement on his sole start for Dan Skelton, winning a Warwick (soft) bumper by 7L in March. Now resumes for hurdles intro for a trainer who is enjoying a good season and every chance he can make an impact.
Well beaten on debut in a bumper in March and raced keenly before being pulled up on her return to action/hurdles debut at Stratford (2m6f, good) in March. Hood added today but she needs a lot of improvement.

Forecasts

Whiskey In The Jar (13/8), Pulp Fiction (2/1), Henry's Joy (3/1), Don't Ask (10/1), Colt Lightning (14/1), Chasseur De Tete (50/1), Bronzallure (50/1), Brockton Gandt (150/1)

Verdict

Henry's Joy is likely to be able to have a say here now switching to hurdles, though he perhaps needs a stiffer test, while the same is likely of Chasseur De Tete, who looks worth noting. Don't Askk and Pulp Fiction are others of interest, though the suggestion is WHISKEY IN THE JAR, who makes his debut over obstacles here after an eyecatching bumper win and with conditions to suit and a good record when fresh, gets the vote.
  1. Whiskey In The Jar
  2. Pulp Fiction
  3. Henry's Joy
