Modest handicapper for Brian Ellison before joining his powerful new yard. His hurdling debut went as well as could be expected when third at Down Royal last month (beaten 18L). The experience will have done him good, so wroth a betting check.
Winner of a couple of bumpers who needs a bit of give underfoot, so ought to revel under the conditions. Can make the running if she has to and can make thus a good test. Needs to better her latest effort at Ballinrobe but going the right way.
Won a bumper well on debut at Thurles last December but missed most of this year and now has a bit to prove. Tongue tied for this introduction to hurdling, which may help her settle - worth noting if supported but yard has been quiet lately.
Ostensibly Flat-bred but his dam was a half-sister to a 3m winning chaser, so has the foundations to progress over jumps. Form in bumpers has been consistent so far but the betting can guide as to expectations now there are hurdles in the way.
No impact in any of his three starts so far - the latest of which was a poor effort (14th of 18) at Clonmel. Big amount of improvement required.
Not much to glean from either of his two previous starts and looks to be another to be wary of just for the time being.
Form is a very mixed bag - has won a point-to-point but failed to complete in two chases since switching to rules. Plenty to prove on hurdles debut and others make more appeal.
Cost just €7,200 but is out of a dam that is related to smart chaser Onthe Pulse, so ticks some of the right boxes pedigree-wise. Yard not really noted for first time out winner, though, and have been going through a quiet period.
A €400 purchase, his dam is a half-sister to Cork National winner Our Monty, so there is some appeal on breeding. Likely others will be a bit sharper though and he looks a bit too much of a speculative hope at this stage.
Cost 18,000 gns, this High Chaparral gelding is a half-brother to a handful of winners- only one of whom made an impact over jumps. Best just watched on debut.
Cost €45,000 and appeals on pedigree. Shown up well in both previous starts and looks shortlist material in a race of this nature. His latest effort at Wexford needs to be bettered but he's on the right path and could easily make the frame here.
Debut run was encouraging but not so good latest (both at Clonmel). Has the application of a hood today, which may help him focus but comes with risks attached.
Lots to like about his effort so far and surely just a matter of time before he finds the right race. This could be within his reach but he's been expensive to follow, so there are risks attached, as he's already failed to deliver at cramped odds.
Never got competitive on debut at Galway and needs to step things up considerably on the bare form of that run. Others hold much stronger claims.
Reserve: Cost 55,000, his debut run was a decent effort but not so good on return to action at Punchestown. Too much to prove at present.
Reserve: €2,600 purchase as a foal and makes limited appeal on the form of her two runs so far. Best left to her own devices.
Reserve: Bred for the Flat if truth be told and makes very limited appeal for the jumping game on the evidence of his turf and Dundalk AW form.
Forecasts
Sympa Des Flos (5/4), Schmidt (3/1), Now Let Go (9/2), All Good Things (6/1), One First Cut (12/1), Suitor (14/1), Shaw's Cross (20/1), Hyman Roth (20/1), Kilcarry Red (20/1), Ishyaboi (20/1), Reelingintheyears (25/1), Adolphius (33/1), Boherard Boy (50/1), D'bru Na Boinne (50/1), Gimli's Oscar (50/1), Feisty Madam (50/1), First Crusade (66/1)
A tough one to call as SYMPA DES FLOS has already let his supporters down on three occasion and there has to be an amount of reticence about accepting the likely cramped odds on offer. However, this a race lacking many credible alternatives and it may be a case of perseverance paying the best dividend. Schmidt is also going the right way and is likely to give the selection a good deal to think about if he can step things up a notch, while Now Let Go could also go well at a fair price.
