Goes well here but best form has been posted over 1m, so needs everything to go his way over a trip which extends him to the limit.
C&D winner but has been struggling of late and has been well beaten here last twice. Now 2lb lower than last win in February but others still preferred.
Improving with every run here since finishing sixth of 14 in September. Continuation of development expected here and one for the shortlist.
Had been producing some rock-solid performances before winning a 14-runner handicap over 1m last month. Up 6lb for that win and may well appreciate first try at the trip.
Well beaten and no impression in two second-rate performances at this venue last month running between 1m4f and 1m2½f. Another torrid time looks on the cards and losing run now 27.
Generally solid and consistent in three starts here recently including finishing fourth of 14 beaten 4L behind Mandarin Monarch last month. One for each way players here.
Without a win in 15 starts at this venue but has been knocking on the door of late and cannot be easily dismissed given some game runs.
C&D winner in October and beaten last time out when ask to shoulder a 6lb rise over 1m4f. Dropped 3lb for that defeat and on the shortlist now running back at winning trip.
Third of 12 beaten 1¾L in a promising run here last month over this trip Handicapper gives her a chance dropping the filly 4lb and worth a market check in first-time cheekpieces.
Not disgraced in a couple of efforts here in October including a 5½L defeat last time out behind Ben Rumson who has gone on to win again. Worth a market check on stable debut.
Looked to be taken off her feet when upped in trip last time out at this venue last month. Hard to fancy until she shows some signs of ability.
Maiden of 10 starts and while he is clearly of limited ability his best efforts have been the three occasions he has tackled this C&D. Others hold stronger profiles.
Beaten over 18L in two starts on this surface and requires a chunk of improvement to play a role here.
Lowly rated 18-start course maiden beaten 6L finishing 12th of 14 last run here in October. Will need to improve to figure.
First Reserve: Gone 14 races without success this year and now over two years since she won three in quick succession. Hard to fancy at present.
Second Reserve: Not seen since finishing fifth of 14 beaten 5¼L over 1m4f in January. Best watched on return.
Third Reserve: Second in an apprentices race was a solid performance before finishing fifth of 14 beaten 5L behind Carried here in October when with Jim Bolger. Worth a market check on stable debut.
Forecasts
Masalai (11/4), Nimitz (7/2), Jessamine (9/2), California Lad (10/1), Fianchetto (10/1), Society Ranger (12/1), Cresendo (12/1), Law Equity (14/1), Carrigeen Prince (14/1), Glimmer Of Hope (14/1), Maladh (16/1), Dark Amber (16/1), War Room (20/1), Rockview Emperor (20/1), La Fleur De Force (33/1), Shamar (33/1), Redwood Boy (50/1)
Law Equity and Carrigeen Prince from stalls four and three could possibly lead here in the early stages with War Room and Shamar not to far away. Recent solid track performers Fianchetto, Nimitz and last time out winner Masalai are sure to give their running but preference is for JESSAMINE who was running over the wrong trip last time out following a win over C&D in October.
- Jessamine
- Masalai
- Fianchetto
