Has gathered plenty of AW experience without winning. Steps up in trip from 7f on her first visit to Newcastle on the back of a fair 2¾L third to Roman Spinner at Kempton (7f) just last week.

Mainly well wide of the mark so far with his best effort coming on his nursery debut at Nottingham in mid October (1m+ good to soft) when just under 5L fourth to Ruysch. Hardly progressive.

A nine race maiden who has had plenty of winning chances, including when sent off at evens at Ffos Las in late August (7½f good to soft). However, handles Tapeta as he demonstrated when placed at Wolverhampton latest (7f).

Looked in need of a step up in trip when finishing a staying on fourth to Lord Caprio (winner since) over 7f here earlier in the month. Eased 1lb in the weights since, and that looks risky on just her second handicap start.

20,000 gns yearling by Acclamation, so this stiff mile should be her trip. Shown precious little ability in novice events so far, but it wouldn't be the greatest surprise in the world if she's far stronger on handicap debut.

Now a 12 race maiden, but he's proved consistent over 6f and 7f since mid July. Beaten 3L by Lord Caprio (winner since) over 7f here latest (Blue Havana fourth), but stamina a question mark.

A nine race maiden who has lost his way slightly since late summer. Beaten 4½L by Excellent Times at Redcar in late October (6f soft), but poor here since and his suitability for this straight mile looks questionable.

Ahfad10
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-11| J: P J McDonald| T: S C Williams| OR:  50

Offered little in his first three starts, but seemingly took a big step forward when placed (third) on his nursery debut at Wolverhampton last week (1m1½f). However, the strength of that form is debatable, and will a drop back to 1m suit?

Forecasts

Ahfad (10/3), Obrigada (7/2), Rock On Bertie (4/1), Blue Havana (5/1), Foxrush Take Time (7/1), Trick Shot Jenny (12/1), Onefootinfront (12/1), Mr Carbonator (14/1)

Verdict

A very modest nursery in which the top-rated horses, Obrigada and Onefootinfront are lowly rated (61). However, one of the eight runners will shed their maiden tag, and it could well be the John Quinn trained filly BLUE HAVANA. She finished behind Rock On Bertie when fourth to subsequent winner Lord Caprio over 7f here earlier in the month, but looks highly likely to be suited by stepping up in trip on just her second start in a handicap. Ahfad should be on the premises if handling the switch to Newcastle's straight mile, with his previous improved form coming around a bend at Wolverhampton.

  2. Obrigada
  3. Ahfad
