Gradually coming to hand for this trainer, and on the premises over this trip at Wolverhampton the past twice, including when a ¾L runner up to Grey Destiny latest. Up 2lb.
Both of his career successes have come over C&D, but he's not seen much racing since March. Finished well down the field after racing prominently here in August, and he might just need this off another break.
Beaten 3L by Gun Case over C&D earlier this month, but backed that effort up with a second on the Fibresand at Southwell a fortnight ago. Up 1lb, but open to further improvement on just his seventh career start.
Moved from James Given for 14,000 gns in October 2016, but has taken time to hit the racecourse for this trainer. Posted a fair effort over 6f here earlier this month, and now tries 7f for the first time.
An 11 race maiden who has done all of her racing over 1m and beyond since September 2016. Wouldn't make masses of obvious appeal, but is slipping quickly down the weights and that's probably helpful.
Has now had 30 attempts to shed the maiden tag (0 from 12 on synthetics). However, she tries hard and there is no knocking her resolution. Has plenty of experience of this track and was beaten just 2L by Breathoffreshair last week (6f).
Dropping like a stone in the weights, but with good reason - down 18lb since July 2017. Finished 4L behind (fourth) Chaucer's Tale over C&D earlier in the month, but his couple of subsequent efforts have been far less productive.
Hasn't tasted success since May 2013 (7f Catterick) and had rather lost her way when last seen in action in mid August following a string of low grade placed efforts earlier in the summer. No show in her previous Newcastle visits.
Successful over 1m from a 9lb higher mark here in March, but that was his first success for many a moon. Offered little of any note since, and you'd be surprised if a drop to 7f was the order of the day.
Is probably less exposed than some, but her improved efforts in mid to late July (7f) now seem quite a while ago. Down the field at Redcar on her last start in August, and back on the AW for the first time in 13 months.
A winner just once in her 24 race career, she's definitely no Ferrari. She's at the foot of the handicap for a reason and looks vulnerable over 7f, but she'll know what to expect having raced at this track previously in March (6f).
Forecasts
Kafoo (11/4), Chaucer's Tale (7/2), Justice Pleasing (6/1), Jessie Allan (7/1), Dandy Bird (7/1), She's Zoff (12/1), Tom's Anna (14/1), Miss Bates (16/1), Nelson's Bay (16/1), Fast Kar (20/1), Arizona Sunrise (25/1)
A moderate, and divided 7f opener, where only a select few of these runners enter calculations. Jessie Allan tries hard, but always seems to find a couple stronger, and she took the losing sequence to 30 when beaten 2L by the thriving giant Breathoffreshair over 6f here last week. She should hit the frame, but the pair to concentrate upon are the lightly raced and improving Chaucer's Tale, and the top-weighted KAFOO. Mick Appleby is steadily getting to grips with his July 2017 acquisition (5,000 gns), and assuming he can back up his respectable Wolverhampton efforts at a different track, he's fancied to strike before slipping further upwards and out of this grade.
- Kafoo
- Chaucer's Tale
- Jessie Allan
