On the plus side, is a C&D winner here in the past and is taking another drop in grade today, but that's down to a series of poor efforts and he shows no signs of being able to halt the slide at present.
Winner at Cartmel in June but that was over 2m1f in soft ground, so facing very different conditions here. May have needed recent run after a break but still hard to fancy, with this trio a total unknown.
Shown very little in maiden/novice hurdles so far, although not completely disgraced at Market Rasen last time. Goes into handicaps on a low mark and step up in trip worth a try. Risky, but could go better here.
Came good at Peth from a 3lb lower mark than today's in September but efforts at this trip leave a bit to be desired. On that, others make more appeal today.
Has shown very little to date, and hasn't done any better for the step into handicaps either. Early days though, and the tongue-tie and cheekpieces go on for the first time today, which may help. Plenty of risks attached, but may yet do better.
Easy winner of a point-to-point at Hexham's point-to-point course when last seen in May, first run for new yard today and goes into handicaps on a basement mark. Ground fine and market will guide as to what's expected.
More letters than numbers in recent form and when she's completed, she's finished last twice. Hard to make much of a case for on that, even going into handicaps after a break today, and others readily preferred.
Well beaten most starts and hasn't looked like winning anything as yet. Still a maiden and unlikely to alter that stat after today, having to race from out of the handicap.
Just one win from 64 starts tells you plenty about his chances today, although often runs a little better than expected in the face of seemingly hard tasks. That might be the same scenario again here, although hard to entertain for win purposes.
Forecasts
Apachee Prince (5/2), Ange Des Malberaux (3/1), Fight Away Boys (4/1), Angel's Envy (11/2), Maraweh (6/1), Lady London (20/1), Raifteiri (25/1), Sybil Grey (25/1), Josephine K (33/1)
A race to tread very carefully with, as nothing brings anything like a solid profile into it. ANGEL'S ENVY really is a dart in the dark, as she's not shown much to date but there are signs of ability, and she's likely to do better for the step into handicaps and new trip. She certainly couldn't have found a much weaker race to start off in, anyway, and is worth taking a chance on. Fight Away Boys and Lady London are both unexposed and are interesting for various reasons - they might be the ones to give the selection most to do.
- Angel's Envy
- Fight Away Boys
- Lady London
