Purchased for £25,000 in September 2017 by owners who enjoyed success with Wig Wam Wiggle at Hexham last week. A three time hurdles winner in Ireland for Gordon Elliott (up to 2m4f), he also took a 2m1f+ beginners chase at Sligo in August.

Rock solid at Carlisle, and emerged with credit when seeking a hat-trick despite being beaten ¾L by Nuts Well there a fortnight ago (2m soft). This track can suit a front runner and no surprise if he continues his steady progression from 3lb higher.

Jumped well throughout and always prominent on his chasing debut over C&D earlier this month. Just edged out by Beggar's Wishes, he looks capable of improving upon that effort despite a 5lb rise in the weights.

Notched the hat-trick despite having to work hard at Carlisle in late October (2m1f handicap hurdle heavy). Back over fences for the first time since making a winning debut at Perth in September, but has had a few hard races of late.

Verdict

A very tight novices handicap chase in which you'd be a fool to confidently dismiss any of the five runners. However, we seek the most likely winner, and there was an awful lot to like about the performance of CRACKING FIND at Newcastle earlier this month. Whilst that 2m contest wasn't the strongest of events, he suggested that there was plenty more to offer in the future over fences, and with the ground still riding relatively quick (good to soft), he looks fully capable of putting his rivals to the sword with his impeccable fencing from the front end, despite having significantly more competition for the lead this afternoon. Carlisle specialist Derintoher Yank is a reasonable forecast option.
  1. Cracking Find
  2. Derintoher Yank
  3. Robbing The Prey
