Looked a likely winner when unseating at the final fence over C&D on his penultimate outing but made no mistake back here subsequently. Raised 4lb for his latest success but remains open to improvement.
Made a winning debut for this yard when sent off a short priced favourite for a novice chase at Southwell (good) earlier this month. One to note on his handicap debut over fences.
Disappointing in two chases since winning a heavy ground handicap hurdle at Wincanton over 2m4f in February. Worth a check in the market on his return from over five months off the track.
Successful in a four runner handicap chase at Plumpton (2m1f, good-to-firm) in April. Failed to build on a promising return to action when well beaten at Kempton last time out and others make more appeal.
Contesting highly competitive contests since winning at Cheltenham (good) in April. Races off a 4lb lower mark compared to when contesting a 2m handicap chase at that same course earlier this month and is one to note dropping in grade.
Victorious six times so far most recently in a first time tongue tie (retained since) over an extended 2m at Worcester (good) a month ago. Held since and interesting to see how he fares today.
Successful six times so far but most recent victory came over two years ago. Now rated 17lb lower than for his most recent success but has to put a couple of moderate efforts behind him if he's to take this from 5lb out of the handicap.
Winner of six races including over C&D on good ground in April. Pulled up twice since and looks up against it from out of the handicap on his first outing since May.
Forecasts
Robinshill (15/8), Mick Thonic (4/1), Chirico Vallis (4/1), Truckers Highway (9/2), Pearls Legend (8/1), Tornado In Milan (9/1), Walden Prince (33/1), River Purple (100/1)
MICK THONIC has been contesting better races than this in recent starts and he can register his third career win in this Class 3 handicap chase. The selection ran a respectable race at Cheltenham last time out and represents trainer Colin Tizzard who can boast a 20% strike-rate (8/40) in recent weeks. Robinshill can give the selection most to do having won well over this C&D last time out while chasing debutant Chirico Vallis is taken to claim third.
- Mick Thonic
