Won on his seasonal return at Towcester when beating a small field nicely, was travelling well again in conditionals' contest at Cheltenham last month (2m½f, good) only to fall two out. Chance if none the worse.
Not won since November 2015 (2m soft, Sandown), and has earned little respite from the assessor, largely due to his consistent profile. Tailed off at Ascot early this month and hard to fancy for win purposes.
Novice hurdle winner at Sandown (2m4f, soft) in February before struggling off 122 on handicap bow at Newbury (2m4½f, soft) following month. Off since, market may guide on reappearance.
Made a promising start for new yard when clear second in Ludlow handicap hurdle (2m5f, good) earlier this month in a first-time tongue tie. Has plenty scope from this mark to do better.
Game winner of Uttoxeter novice hurdle in March when last spotted, has switched to this yard over the summer and one to keep an eye on in betting on return / handicap debut.
Well beaten in three novice hurdles at this track over longer trips since a promising bumper debut at Plumpton in November. Could have more to offer in time, down in trip now.
A poor sequence of efforts saw his mark tumble right down and he duly exploited it with back-to-back successes at Stratford over extended 2m last month. Held most recently at Wincanton however.
Forecasts
Little Chunk (7/4), Milzipa (3/1), Broughtons Rhythm (11/2), Cool Macavity (6/1), Global Thrill (9/1), Justification (14/1), Prairie Town (20/1)
Cool Macavity is respected given he was travelling with plenty running in him when coming down at Cheltenham last time out. If none the worse, he should mound a fair bid for this prize. Broughtons Rhythm showed a pleasing determination to land the odds at Uttoxeter in March in novice company and is certainly worth keeping a close eye on in the betting on his debut for new yard. LITTLE CHUNK however did make a solid start for his new yard last time at Ludlow, coming home clear in second spot having seemingly benefited from the fitting of a tongue tie (retained here). He's relatively unexposed and with fitness on his side now could take a bit of stopping.
- Little Chunk
- Cool Macavity
- Broughtons Rhythm
