Beaten 10L when fifth of 20 on his handicap debut at Punchestown in February. Returned to finish second of 13 beaten 1¼L in a Naas handicap hurdle earlier this month. Sure to be in the mix.
Comes here looking for the hat-trick for powerful connections. Winner at Galway on first run since May last month. Up 7lb for the win but can continue improvement here.
Winner on return to the track landing a 13k handicap hurdle at Clonmel earlier this month over 3m on soft to heavy ground. Worth a market check on second start for powerful yard.
130-rated hurdler when in the hands of Rebecca Curtis. Disappointed on stable debut in August finishing sixth of nine beaten 40L in a Cork hurdle over 3m. Will need to improve to figure.
Winner at Navan last month when beating Tale Of Woe ¾L on his return to the Flat. Generally disappointing over hurdles with just one win in eight starts. Other preferred.
Well beaten when last seen over hurdles 24L behind Jury Duty when 12th of 16 in a Navan handicap hurdle. 12th of 16 here last term and this looks a tall order on recent form shown.
Possibly needed the run on seasonal debut when finishing 11th of 15 beaten 23L behind Oscars Den at Navan earlier this month.
Has produced two solid and consistent performances since returning from a break at Limerick and Naas. Will need to improve again to play a role here.
Bounced back from a crunching hurdles fall at Ayr in January to hack up at short odds in a 2m maiden hurdle on soft ground the following month. Chasing since and needs a fair chunk of improvement to figure here.
140-rated chaser who reverted to hurdles last time out finishing sixth of 19 beaten 11L in a Cork handicap hurdle over 2m3f. Has previously won following a break and market likely to reveal expectations off a handy mark.
Ran some nice races over fences last season but no hurdling win since February 2015 and is now back down to a mark 1lb lower than last win. Without a win from six starts on the ground and losing run up to 26 is a worry.
Needs to improve significantly on his two most recent runs since returning from a break last month and others hold stronger profiles in this contest.
Possibly needed the run on return when finishing 12th of 14 beaten 75L behind Folsom Blue earlier this month at Clonmel but still looks vulnerable in this company.
Forecasts
Glenloe (9/4), Mon Lino (9/2), Folsom Blue (5/1), Brave Out (13/2), Shannak (11/1), Art Of Security (14/1), Duke Cass (16/1), Rightdownthemiddle (16/1), Baie Des Iles (20/1), Elusive Theatre (20/1), Pairofbrowneyes (20/1), Peace N' Milan (20/1), Red Devil Lads (28/1)
The former Rebecca Curtis-trained Red Devil Lads like to get on with things from the front and could well have a couple of his opponents in trouble some way out in this contest. The pace set though will suit the likes of Elusive Theatre, Shannak plus the J P McManus pair Mon Lino and the Gordon Elliot charge GLENCOE who impressed on seasonal and stable debut at Naas earlier in the month.
- Glenloe
- Mon Lino
- Elusive Theatre
