One of the most consistent sorts in this line-up who will be at home over this trip having twice scored over further at Southwell last season. Has run two sound races for this yard winning under a forcing ride last time; chance off 5lb higher.
Made the most of what looked to be a golden opportunity to win at Market Rasen in June off a 9lb lower mark and has found life a touch tougher since off higher marks. Did run well on his reappearance though (off 100) but not for the first time finished rather weakly.
Has shown some fair form over fences but not the most reliable and it wasn't totally the six month layoff that was responsible for his defeat last time. Handicapper is starting to give him a chance but he isn't one to rely on.
Yard going a lot better now and his Wincanton second which saw a step forward on his chasing debut is starting to look decent form. May have been slightly fortunate to win last time but looks the sort to improve again.
Took an age to get off the mark over fences and then found himself on another going day when at Newton Abbot in August. Failed to dominate last time and despite finishing second produced a rather laboured effort.
Placed off a higher mark than this over fences prior to running in point-to-points (winner in that sphere) he shaped as though he still had something to offer over fences last time. Jumped boldly in front last time (ride a little aggressive) and of interest here.
Yet to score over fences and only one placed effort to show for his four efforts which came last time out in a similar contest to this. Runs off the same mark here and rated much higher over hurdles and not ruled out of this.
His last win came nearly a year ago in a very weak contest and he's not been in much form since. Runs from well out of the handicap here and his propensity for making mistakes means his appeal is limited.
Forecasts
Running Wolf (7/2), Fly Home Harry (7/2), Red Square Revival (9/2), High Counsel (5/1), Trojan Star (5/1), Charlie Mon (11/1), Agreement (16/1), Next Exit (80/1)
A race where all the protagonists wear headgear and there are few that have a questionable temperament. RED SQUARE REVIVAL wouldn’t be one of those though and with the David Pipe team having a good record here he’s capable of following up his rather fortunate win at Plumpton last time. Fly Home Harry is likely to provide the main danger especially if he gets his own way out in front. High Counsel is another to throw in the mix his run last time out was better than the final position and he could be dangerous off his low weight. Running Wolf and Agreement are two other that can’t be totally ruled out.
- Red Square Revival
- Fly Home Harry
- High Counsel
