High-class novice hurdler who made a winning start over fences when winning easily at Chepstow. Jumped stickily early on, but he is likely to be more streetwise this time and is clearly the one to beat.
Fair hurdler whose debut over fences at Chepstow saw him finish well behind a mare who has won in much better company since. Likely to find this opposition too strong.
Talented novice hurdler who was second in last season's Betfair Hurdle at Newbury. Needed the experience behind a couple of high-class novices on his chasing debut at this track and should be more accomplished this time with longer trip a plus.
Well-regarded novice hurdler who won two of his four starts, but was kept away from the spring festivals at Cheltenham and Aintree. Reported to have schooled well for this chasing debut and looks the right sort for the job.
Forecasts
Finian's Oscar (10/11), William Henry (5/2), Movewiththetimes (4/1), Coo Star Sivola (12/1)
Not many runners, but a fascinating contest nonetheless. Coo Star Sivola looks to be flying too high, but cases can be made for the other three, particularly FINIAN'S OSCAR, who was a crackerjack novice hurdler and made a winning start over fences at Chepstow. He will need to jump better early on, however, to see off the promising pair Movewiththetimes and William Henry, who are capable of cashing in on any weaknesses in the favourite's armour.
- Finian's Oscar
- Movewiththetimes
- William Henry
