Fair maiden on the Flat who handles any ground but is especially effective with some give underfoot. Checked out quickly on Friday but this looks a lot less competitive and no surprise if he should improve with his yard in form.
Modest performer on the Flat and has not looked much better over hurdles. This will not take much winning and, having improved slightly last time, he cannot be dismissed lightly.
Landed a Newbury maiden for Paul Cole but lost his action and was pulled up when last seen. Joined current yard for £1,500 and that would suggest there were few who wanted to take a risk on him. Stable had a winner yesterday but best watched.
Winner on the Flat and has run well in several attempts over hurdles without getting his head in front. Good chance based on latest C&D form and nothing of the calibre of that winner in this lineup.
Winner of two AW races for Hugo Palmer and bought by new yard for £22,000. Interesting recruit for a yard whose horses are worth noting in the market.
Flat form was regressive and tailed off last of ten when last seen in August. This will take little winning but still hard to build a positive case.
Just held on in a fillies race at Fakenham two weeks ago when the pair were well clear of the third. This looks equally uncompetitive but she may have to jump better under a penalty.
Failed to beat a horse home in three starts on the Flat and it would be a minor victory if she could better that record here.
Forecasts
Cubswin (7/4), Phoenix Dawn (9/4), Hernandes (9/2), Tamayef (13/2), Marettimo (12/1), Mutoondresdashorse (14/1), Titan (33/1), Nagamaat (100/1)
Cubswin landed a fillies hurdle at Fakenham and this may take just as little to win. Her jumping has room to improve and that leaves her vulnerable under a penalty. A chance is taken on TAMAYEF being ready on his hurdling debut having been the pick of these on the Flat. Ground conditions are ideal and a market move would raise optimism. Hernandes lacks pace and ought to be vulnerable around here on this ground. Nevertheless, this is a poor race and he cannot be dismissed and nor can Marettimo. Phoenix Dawn had no chance behind an easy winner last time but he has been competitive in similar grade and so has each-way claims.
- Tamayef
- Phoenix Dawn
- Hernandes
