By Fastnet Rock out of a 1m-winning dam who stayed further. Needed the run when well beaten over 6f on debut and should do better this time with the extra distance likely to suit.
Bernadini colt who is related to several useful types, all winners between 6f and 1m. Beaten 4L when second of six on debut at Brighton and should be more streetwise this time.
Scat Daddy colt who cost 675,000 gns in April and is a half-brother to four winners, a couple of them very useful. Represents a top stable and has to be of serious interest on debut.
Closely related to high-class 1m2f-1m4f winner Ajman Princess, he pulled hard when a close second on debut at Leicester. Obviously has plenty of talent and should progress if the first-time hood does its job,
Well beaten in three turf starts and one outing on the AW. No reason to believe this will be any different and he would surely be better off in handicaps.
Gelded son of Swiss Spirit out of a maiden effective over 7f. Dam half-sister to a 1m2f winner and a Listed placed 6f-8f winner. Green when well behind on debut at Redcar and needs more time to develop.
A £30,000 yearling by Lope De Vega out of a dam by Montjeu placed over 1m at two, he has a middle distance pedigree and finished ahead of Swissie when 11th on debut at Redcar. He looks a long-term prospect.
Half-sister to useful French performer Alumna, but like so many from the yard, breeding suggests middle distances will be her thing next year and that impression was confirmed when she was last of 12 at Kempton on debut.
A €65,000 breeze-up purchase whose unraced dam is out of a French Group-placed 7f winning half-sister to 1m Group 1 winner Tamayuz. Never struck a blow on debut at Catterick last month and is best watched.
Signs of talent in both starts at Thirsk and Redcar. Qualifies for a handicap mark after this and can make her mark in that sphere.
Forecasts
Kings Shield (8/11), Ostilio (13/8), Illusional (4/1), Mafdet (33/1), Whatwouldyouknow (33/1), Amadeus (40/1), Altra Vita (66/1), Ayton (100/1), Snaffled (125/1), Swissie (150/1)
Of those to have run, Ilusional and, in particular, Ostilio, make most appeal. However, there is a good chance that the newcomer, KINGS SHIELD, will prove too good. He was an expensive purchase in April, has a fine pedigree and is sure to have been well prepared for his debut by his top stable.
- Kings Shield
- Ostilio
- Illusional
