Placed on the Flat and in a bumper in France he looked a good prospect when winning first time out for this yard over hurdles at Market Rasen. Travelled strongly and cruised clear beating his nearest rival in the betting; form not franked as yet.
A non-runner at Wincanton on Saturday he looked a good prospect in bumpers last season winning twice and then finishing 4th in a Grade 2 at Aintree. Odds-on and won like it on his hurdles debut at Exeter (third Station Master has won since); exciting sort.
Makes his hurdles debut after finishing fifth of 10 here in a bumper looking to offer something to work on running on late but never offering a threat. Looks one for the longer term over hurdles possibly over a little further.
Fair handicapper on the Flat when with Richard Fahey (won off 70 over 1m1f). Not won for a while now though and goes hurdling with a yard that do well here but hard to see him scoring on his debut.
Has shown some fair form in France over hurdles/fences (won a chase) and now joins a new yard making his GB debut. Clearly has some ability but this looks a deep enough race and his yard isn't quite firing as yet.
Won't be a surprise if this one makes a mark over hurdles and but for falling at the last here in September, may well have already done so. Showed his inexperience when fourth of nine at Worcester; still has potential.
Showed some useful bumper form in Ireland and showed an aptitude for hurdling also in his last two runs the latest on debut for this yard. Gives the impression that there is better to come and may well be one for handicaps after this run.
Dual Flat winner this year on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton when with Brian Ellison over 1m4f both handicaps in lowly grade. Now goes hurdling with a new yard and faces a tough task in a deep race.
Yet to win over hurdles having been tried in novice and handicap company. Had three runs for this yard now and may well do well to make an impression here after failing to see things out last time in a Market Rasen handicap.
Bred to stay well he's only raced over 2m so far but has shown signs of ability in two of his three runs, the first in a bumper for his previous stable. Showed some aptitude for hurdling last time and should do better possibly over further.
Consistent sort from a yard that continue to perform well, finishing second on his latest bumper start at Fontwell. Given his connections, he should go well in this sphere although he's given a fairly tough start to his hurdling career.
Hard to recommend on the basis of what he's shown so far having pulled-up on his Rules debut for his old yard and then finished well held last time out on his debut for new connections.
Modest form in bumpers when last seen in 2016 and definitely went backwards from his debut. Now makes his hurdling debut after a break and faces a stiff task.
Forecasts
If The Cap Fits (4/11), Solomon Grey (9/2), Demon D'Aunou (9/2), Commodore (11/1), Equus Millar (20/1), Character Onesie (25/1), Radical Archie (33/1), Friary Gold (80/1), Toosey (100/1), Bronzallure (100/1), Hes Our Robin (100/1), Frozon (100/1), Sounds Of Italy (125/1)
A race where several will be seen to better effect in handicaps and the two that carry penalties are likely to hold sway here. IF THE CAP FITS has shown some very progressive bumper form and impressed on his hurdles debut, with that form already being franked, he should hold the edge over Demon D’Aunou. That’s not to write off the O’Neill horse though as he looked a good prospect when trotting up at Market Rasen. There are some others in this that could well be of interest despite facing what look to be tough tasks here with Equus Millar, Radical Archie and Solomon Grey all worthy of a look at for the future.
- If The Cap Fits
- Demon D'aunou
- Equus Millar
