Behind Time21
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-1| J: N P Madden| T: H Fry| OR:  127
12/1
Well beaten on chase debut last time in a classy affair, never really jumping with any fluency. This looks like another tough assignment and may be seen to better effect given more time.

Lickpenny Larryt178
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-1| J: R T Dunne| T: T R Gretton| OR:  90
200/1
Yet to place in seven starts and makes very little appeal on chasing debut against some useful sorts. May do better when returned to hurdles.

Optimus Primet23
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-1| J: N D Fehily| T: D Skelton| OR:  138| D
6/4
Yet to win since the switch to this yard from France but has shown a smart level of form, runner-up in a Grade 3 contest earlier in the year before a fair fourth in Listed class last time. Should run well again and may improve for softer ground.
4
Horse silk
200/1
Has won point-to-point races in his days in that sphere but made very little impression at odds of 200/1 on his comeback run at Cheltenham last month and this unlikely to be much easier.

Tommy Silver206
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-1| J: H Cobden| T: P F Nicholls| OR:  146| D
4/6
Has won two of his last four starts and better than his finishing position suggests at Ayr last time when sixth of 16 in a Grade 2 contest. Has an absence to overcome but he's the type to do better over fences and sets the standard on form.

Forecasts

Tommy Silver (4/6), Optimus Prime (6/4), Behind Time (12/1), Lickpenny Larry (200/1), Presenting William (200/1)

Verdict

TOMMY SILVER will be tough to beat if he proves as good over fences as he did hurdles earlier in the year. The experience already gained over fences when trained in France could prove very useful for Optimus Prime and Dan Skelton's charge will be there to exploit any weakness in the jumping of Tommy Silver on the selections chase debut. Behind Time ran no sort of race at Exeter behind stablemate Yanworth and may do better over further than this but he can still prove best of the rest.
  1. Tommy Silver
  2. Optimus Prime
  3. Behind Time
