C&D winner 20 months ago but not as good since and has left Edward O'Grady's yard. Probably best watched on debut for new yard.
Had some fair form for Eddie O'Grady two seasons ago but proved hard to place last year. Best watched on debut for new yard.
Both wins have come on heavy ground but now 11 races since his last win and he remains 6lb above that mark.
Almost three years since lone win over hurdles and a third on the flat his only placed effort in 11 starts this year. Appears to be going the wrong way.
Clonmel maiden hurdle winner who was tailed off next time. Blinkers go on and needs to prove himself on ground as soft as this.
Fragile sort with only eight runs behind him having gone three seasons without a run. Went well enough at Tipperary on penultimate start to suggest he may be able to add a fourth career victory. 2m4f may have proved too far next time.
Stayed on well to land his maiden over C&D at odds of 40/1. Shaped like a horse who needs more of a test when runner-up at Punchestown last December and he has been off the track since. Likely to need this but one to keep on the right side.
Landed a Cork maiden before finding 2m4f too far in holding ground. Too keen next time and hooded for her latest start. Looked a lot better that day and had little chance with the first two at the weights. Should go well.
At his best on heavy ground and clearly likes Ayr. Best efforts have come over further and a nine month absence is another reason to oppose him.
Best form this year has come over fences and a solid runner-up effort this month in that sphere at Galway (2m2f, soft). Not certain to replicate over timber where he is 1-22.
Won his maiden last year and was highly tried thereafter. Excellent second to Lex Talionis in a tight finish on return when sticking to his task well and deserves compensation here. Meets that rival on identical terms and should have improved since.
Time has shown he had a tough task when trying to concede 13lb to Head Turner when last seen 20 months ago. Not at all harshly treated on that form if the market indicates he is ready.
Pulled up on last two starts and headgear now applied. Bumper win came on good-to-firm ground and hard to find a reason to recommend her.
It has been a long time since we have seen the best from him under either discipline and hard to fancy despite a dropping mark.
Opened his account last time but only narrowly from Champagne Pat. The runner-up would be expected to improve on that first run of the campaign, but Noel Meade's team continue in excellent form.
Forecasts
Champagne Pat (7/2), Oscars Den (4/1), Lex Talionis (9/2), Black Zero (7/1), Lakemilan (9/1), Our Boy Boru (12/1), Admiral Brian (14/1), Masterson (14/1), Rooster Byron (20/1), The Mooch (25/1), Theophilus (25/1), All Souls (25/1), Hows Patsy (25/1), Duke Cass (33/1), Master Ruffit (50/1)
CHAMPAGNE PAT and Lex Talionis fought out a tight finish at Punchestown. Noel Meade's charge came out on top that day but Champagne Pat would be expected to turn the tables having been off the track eight months. Lakemilan should find this easier than her latest start, whilst Rooster Byron has the form to win this if ready after a long break.
- Champagne Pat
- Lakemilan
- Lex Talionis
