Horse A-Z

50/1
Tailed off on debut at Stratford in September (2m1½f, good to soft), nothing outstanding about his breeding and appears best watched for now.

Don Lami201
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-2| J: David Noonan| T: A J Honeyball
7/4
Irish Point-to-point winner on sole outing in April, since joined this yard and entitled to hold sound claims going under rules for the first time. Pay close attention in betting.
3
Horse silk
9/2
Backed in both bumpers last season when in the care of Nicky Henderson and didn't run badly in second of those at Taunton in April. Goes hurdling on first start for new trainer and will have a chance if repeating most recent form back from a break.

Inaminna159
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-2| J: N D Fehily| T: N P Mulholland
6/1
One win from four in point-to-points, might have been two but for a late fall in most recent outing in June. Makes rules debut on debut for Neil Mulholland and no surprise if he runs well.
5
Horse silk
8/1
Getaway gelding, represents good yard on debut but no surprise if he's seen to best effect once there are jumps in his path.
6

Laketour Leader193
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-2| J: A Glassonbury| T: R Rowe
20/1
Point-to-point winner in April, joined this yard ahead of rules debut and market a likely guide to his chances.

Mellow Benh1194
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-2| J: Tom Cannon| T: C Gordon
20/1
Took the runner-up spot on his debut in an Irish Point-to-point behind an easy winner. Hood goes on for his Rules debut from a stable with a modest strike-rate in bumpers.
Cost €34,000 as a three-year-old and runs for a yard whose bumper runners have bene doing well. A likely contender following runner-up effort at Worcester last month on rules bow.
9
Horse silk
20/1
Midnight Legend mare makes debut in this and likely to have limited aspirations unless market suggests otherwise.

Forecasts

Don Lami (7/4), The Go Tou Man (7/2), Highway Star (9/2), Inaminna (6/1), It's Got Legs (8/1), Mellow Ben (20/1), Laketour Leader (20/1), Midnight Frolic (20/1), All The Colours (50/1)

Verdict

Don Lami has plenty potential on paper and makes for an interesting newcomer here having won his only point-to-point in Ireland in the spring. Any strong support behind him might prove worth noting but there was plenty to like in the debut run from THE GO TOU MAN at Worcester last month. He attempted to grab the race some way out and was eventually forced to settle for second behind a potentially useful sort from Colin Tizzard's team. He stuck to his task nicely to hold on for second and can build on that now over this slightly longer journey. Another point-to-point winner, Inaminna, rates a live contender under rules for the first time while Highway Star isn't written off despite leaving Seven Barrows this summer.
  1. The Go Tou Man
  2. Don Lami
  3. Inaminna
