Dual Grade One winning novice hurdler but missed two years racing afterwards. Second of three on chase debut at Uttoxeter before falling at Perth and Cheltenham. Jumping obviously a concern but more than enough ability.
Dual novice hurdle winner last term at up to 2m4f. Chase debut here but won 3m point-to-point so bigger obstacles and longer trip not of undue concern, merits respect.
Won his first novice hurdle at Ascot last December before close fourth at Cheltenham and then second back at Ascot. Travelled well in all three although jumping not always fluent. Tongue-tie applied and plenty of potential for top yard.
Useful hurdler but not transferred ability to fences in three races so far including twice this season. Looks the outsider of the quartet.
Forecasts
Beat That (6/4), Strong Pursuit (9/4), Topofthegame (9/4), Morello Royale (12/1)
BEAT THAT is given another chance despite falling twice. He had jumped and travelled well until falling at Cheltenham last time so he doesn't seem a fundamentally flawed jumper and although he probably doesn't retain all of his ability his hurdles form is not easily forgotten. The two newcomers over fences are both of interest and of the pair the younger Topofthegame is preferred with Paul Nicholls clearly in a hurry to see him tackle fences. Strong Pursuit can't be dismissed either with the champion jockey in the saddle.
- Beat That
- Topofthegame
