Cost a mere £3,500 at two. Half-sister to 2m4f-3m chase winner Dingo Bay. Dam was a 2m7f-3m2f hurdle winner herself. Tailed off last of nine on bumper debut and that effort does not suggest she is ready to open her account any time soon.
Runner-up in a Liscarroll point-to-point in March where only three finished and in oe of the slowest races of the day. Sister to Harry Fry's four-time winner Innocent Girl and the market should be instructive.
Stratford bumper winner who was no match for an easy winner on hurdling debut over C&D last time. Well supported that day and this looks equally uncompetitive.
Placed at a moderate level in point-to-points and makes rules debut with yard going through a quiet spell.
Midnight Legend filly was beaten 77L on hurdling debut when too keen. Hard to fancy on that evidence.
Had some fair form in bumper two seasons ago and was returning from a year's absence when runner-up here on hurdling debut. That form is only moderate but she should improve, particularly over this longer trip.
Point-to-point winner on good/yielding in Ireland and cost connections £65,000 a year ago. Impressive winner of a Wetherby bumper and ran well in the mares Grade Two Aintree bumper. Looks a good prospect and not highly tried on hurdling debut.
14-race maiden who looks distinctly moderate and a hood is now fitted in a bid to find some improvement. Hard to fancy.
Cost £95,000 at Cheltenham in December 2016 after winning a 3m Boulta point-to-point the previous month. Went well here on hurdling debut and looked unlucky next time. Tailed-off on reappearance and no obvious excuse for the performance.
Forecasts
Redemption Song (4/5), Raised On Grazeon (10/3), Lucca Lady (9/2), Rosie McQueen (6/1), Jolie Francine (25/1), Romann Angel (125/1), Miss Amelia (150/1), Fine Ark (150/1), Mirs Choice (200/1)
This may not be the hardest mares maiden hurdle to win but that hardly makes finding the winner any easier. Rosie McQueen, Lucca Lady and Raised On Grazeon have the benefit of recent runs. The latter should improve for the trip and the return from a long layoff, but the form of her hurdling debut looks weak. Jonjo O'Neill's expensive mare, Rosie McQueen, would be the selection judged on her first two runs but her latest effort was so poor it is hard to be confident about her prospects. Lucca Lady has landed a bumper and made a fair start to her career here over hurdles. Jolie Francine's point-to-form is only moderate but still earns respect at this level but this is probably a good opportunity for REDEMPTION SONG to make a winning start to her hurdling career. A comfortable winner of a Wetherby bumper and a staying on fifth in a top class mares race at Aintree marks her as potentially being on a different level to these.
- Redemption Song
- Raised On Grazeon
- Lucca Lady
