The form of his winning hurdles debut at Exeter looks only modest but in essence he did well to overcome inexperience to win. The fourth has franked that Exeter form and with normal improvement he should be competitive here.

Winner of his only bumper around here and that's encouraging as he's really bred for much longer trips. He gets a chance over further now on his hurdles debut with the tongue-tie added; interesting if he's ready to go after a break.

Holds an unbeaten record being a point-to-point winner before taking a bumper on debut under Rules and doing the same over hurdles. She still looked work in progress when gaining her Chepstow win but looks an exciting prospect.

Had a shocking record in point-to-points (failed to complete in six of seven) but has shown a little more since being sent over hurdles. Ran his best race over C&D last time and while this is tougher he would be of interest in handicaps.

Went the wrong way from her debut in bumpers after a break of three months although that initial run was fairly modest. Now goes hurdling for the first time and isn't given an easy start at all.

Oi Oi14

50/1
Has needed the experience and the run in both her starts so far over hurdles. Will qualify for a handicap mark after this and that is where her future probably lies.

Forecasts

If You Say Run (11/10), Dandy Dan (9/4), Master Work (9/2), Shadow's Boy (8/1), Dauphiness (33/1), Oi Oi (50/1)

Verdict

An interesting start to the card although it may be a little one-sided for betting purposes with the exciting prospect IF YOU SAY RUN dominating the market and in likelihood the race also as she steps up in trip on her second hurdles start. She won’t have it all her won way though with hurdles debutante Dandy Dan a likely sort if he’s ready to go first time up and Exeter winner Master Work providing the main challenge. Shadow’s Boy shouldn’t be written off although his future more than likely lies in handicaps over this trip and further.
  1. If You Say Run
  2. Dandy Dan
  3. Master Work
