Ought to do okay over fences and made a decent enough start when a distant third to Yanworth at Exeter last month, but questionable whether this drop back to a bare two miles is what's needed. Chance, but others preferred.
Some useful formin point-to-points and although a lucky winner on debut at Ffos Las, it was still a decent effort. More rain the better, as this trip looks on the short side, but potential for better is clearly there.
Consistent over hurdles and often quite highly tried, but whether he will be able to make the same impression over fences is open to debate after a middling display in chase debut at Ffos Las. Best watched today.
From a good family and bred to do better over fences tan hurdles, so of some interest on chase debut today. Trip and likely ground both ideal and top jockey booked, so all looks in place for a big run if fencing with fluency.
Has shown some ability on both chase starts to date but a tendency to finish his race off weakly has been a concern. May want better ground than he's likely to get here too and on that, others hold stronger claims.
Related to a few chase winners and has already shown a level of ability over hurdles, notably when third to the improving Air Horse One at Exeter in January. Too bad to be true on last outing but if break has done him good, holds a squeak here.
Trip and likely ground both ideal, but he does now need to bounce back after a poor first effort over fences at Carlisle. New headgear given a go, but the negatives are stacking up a bit now. On a good mark if he can bounce back.
Chase debut for powerful yard today, ability over hurdles is there but a beaten favourite too many times for comfort. Can't be ruled out, trip and likely ground ideal, but needs to start digging in better when the pressure's on.
Connections wasting little time over hurdles with him, and fences likely to show him in a better light. On a dangerous-looking mark if he can get it together at the first time of asking over fences but yard still a bit quiet, which is a concern.
Forecasts
Swift Crusador (7/2), Muffins For Tea (4/1), Capsy De Mee (9/2), Thisonetime (5/1), Itshard To No (6/1), Air De Rock (9/1), Admiral's Secret (16/1), Yorgonnahearmeroar (16/1), Eddiemaurice (33/1)
ITSHARD TO NO makes plenty of appeal here. He has always looked the sort to make a better chaser than hurdler and Kerry Lee will surely be trying her hardest race named after two of the yard's best horses. Swift Crusador arguably wants a longer trip than today's but the rain that threatens to come overnight would help his chance, and he can't be discounted. Air De Rock may go well but would be of more interest if Venetia Williams was amongst the winners lately.
- Itshard To No
- Swift Crusador
