Has made the frame just once in 14 attempts under both codes, that in a bumper two years ago. This trip should suit much more on pedigree, but previous runs have given punters very little cause for optimism.
24-race maiden who has proved very frustrating for followers. Has been runner-up four times this year including at Ayr (1m, heavy) last time, when beaten a neck in a handicap. Drops in grade here and a repeat effort would give him claims.
Made the frame a couple of times on sound/fast ground in the summer, from marks of 56/57. Has been unable to go on from there. Needs to find more to win at these weights and doesn't look as effective on softer ground.
19-race maiden who was runner-up in a Beverley classified event (1m½f, soft) two start ago. This wouldn't be too dissimilar in terms of quality, so she couldn't be ruled out of picking up some prize money is in that sort of mood.
Has been on the slide since winning at Beverley (1m½f, soft) early last season and goes into this 21lb lower. Well held in a similar contest over C&D last time but not ruled out if she could reproduce her first effort for this yard from August.
Another whose powers are on the wane. Best form has been over this trip and goes on any ground. Has so far been unable to win a seller, but first time visor may help and can't be ruled out.
Well beaten in all three starts, the first two being 1m4f maidens and the most recent a seller here over 1m2f. Drops in trip again this time but very hard to enthuse about her chance on what we have seen.
Made the frame twice in a maiden and a handicap in the summer on soft ground. Would have a squeak if able to reproduce her Pontefract effort, though her last two runs have been poor.
Forecasts
Catastrophe (8/13), Cosmic Dust (9/2), Fidelma Moon (13/2), Siyahamba (9/1), Italian Beauty (14/1), Orientelle (18/1), Newgate Duchess (50/1), Bilko's Back (100/1)
Back on soft ground, Orientelle is not ruled out from producing a better effort and she could be thereabouts, along with Fidelma Moon, Cosmic Dust and Catastrophe. However, ITALIAN BEAUTY has her optimum conditions and trip and is selected in the hope that the first-time visor can work the oracle.
- Italian Beauty
- Fidelma Moon
- Cosmic Dust
