Not seen since lone start a year ago where he was beaten 36L into sixth of nine at Lingfield. Plenty of question marks now although trainer form not one of them.

Third in an Irish point-to-point back in April and not seen since. Bare form of that unlikely to be good enough but surely improve with time and up and coming trainer started the season in fine form.

Beaten 50L plus in two bumpers for Kim Bailey earlier in the year. Changed yards for his hurdling debut and up in trip for trainer in form. Huge step up required.

Placed in first three hurdle races before unseating after the last with the race at his mercy as the 4/11 fav at Ffos Las. Fell at the first next time. Reappears here with strong form but questions to answer temperament wise.

138 rated dual chase winner. Won at up to 4m1f over fences and every chance this race over an inadequate trip is a pipe-opener ahead of returns to such marathon tests this winter. Seven previous hurdle races included 5 placed runs.

Third in lone point-to-point over 3m and certainly appeared to stay so this trip should hold no fears. Second in first bumper at Towcester in February before shade disappointing at Chepstow when 2m looked inadequate. Hurdles debut.

Not beaten far despite greenness in a bumper last season (fourth of six). Tailed off on hurdles debut here last month and jumping was not up to scratch there. Will do better in time for top yard but hard to fancy at present.
Recent debut at Ffos Las was quite promising over 2m where he was fifth of 11 in a bumper. Quickly switches to hurdles in search of a more suitable trip having looked desperate for further there. Enough promise to have each-way potential.
€27,000 foal by Milan is half-brother to smart jumpers Made In Taipan and Made In Time. Plenty late enough to be making racecourse debut so presumably slow-developer. Trainer one from 29 this season so best watched here.
A year between his two point-to-point runs (won one) and a further 18 month absence until today. By an exceptional NH sire and joined top trainer so well worth considering on rules debut.

Smart prospect based on his two bumper wins early in the year at Bangor and here. Stayed on strongly in both so trip here should suit and looks a leading contender on his hurdles debut.
Lots to like about his lone start, a bumper win at Warwick in March where he was extremely green yet still rallied to win. Leading trainer will soon have him educated and rates an interesting hurdles newcomer here.
Maiden although smart performer in bumpers was a well backed favourite on hurdles debut at Warwick. Running well despite errors there and in front when he fell three out. Must brush up jumping but chance if he does.

Forecasts

Just A Sting (11/10), Bob Mahler (6/1), Mance Rayder (6/1), Silver Kayf (13/2), Dancing Shadow (9/1), Judge John Deed (14/1), Bardista (18/1), Heaven Dream (33/1), Drumlee City (50/1), Golden Sunrise (66/1), Beyond Supremacy (66/1), Bact To Black (100/1), Hitchhiker (250/1)

Verdict

It is worth chancing the smart bumper performer JUST A STING on this, his hurdles debut. He showed plenty of ability on the level and should relish this greater test of stamina. The best hurdles form to date belongs to Bob Mahler who will surely be involved in the finish but he threw away a win at Ffos Las and now has to prove his resolution in a finish. Mance Rayder did everything wrong on his lone race at Warwick but still won so is open to plenty of improvement and must be considered.
  1. Just A Sting
  2. Bob Mahler
  3. Mance Rayder
