It's arguable that he does have much in hand off this mark as he comes here off a break but he has at least shown winning form. His two wins came in a good run of form at the start of the year and he's not written off here.
Has often looked capable of more than he has actually delivered but despite running some good races he's not one to trust. He does lurk on a dangerous mark but can he be trusted to deliver is the question to ask.
Scored a decisive win around this time last year when with Gordon Elliott looking suited by the increased trip (2m6f). His form since has been rather inconsistent and this trip looks on the short side as he starts out for his new yard.
A fair Flat performer when trained in Ireland (won at up to a mile) and has caught the eye and shaped well in three relatively quiet runs over hurdles. Now goes handicapping for the first time and no surprise to see improvement and market support.
Twice a C&D winner this year the last time off a 6lb lower mark she showed up well on her recent return from a break over this C&D. May well have been given a little too much to do last time and may benefit from a more positive ride here.
Prior to his last run hadn't shown much apart from one previous run but on the evidence of his Uttoxeter second last time out he's well up to winning something like this. Raised 3lb for that run but has to enter the mix in a teasing race.
Forecasts
Hidden Oasis (11/4), Master Of Finance (7/2), Generous Day (4/1), Celestial Magic (4/1), Stepover (5/1), Wolfslair (14/1)
Most if not all the protagonists have a chance of landing this intriguing little puzzle that sees Celestial Magic carry top weight and that may just rule him out of this his mark looking a little tough. Master Of Finance is certainly capable of winning a race such as this but does he really want to and it looks to rest between course specialist Stepover and handicap debutante HIDDEN OASIS. The latter is given the nod on potential and is likely to prove better than this mark and market support would be significant. Generous Day isn’t out of this either but he may just have met a couple that are slightly more on the up than he is.
- Hidden Oasis
- Stepover
- Generous Day
