Didn't really show the benefit of a recent outing on the Flat when fading after a blunder three out yesterday at Huntingdon. May be better judged on his earlier selling handicap form (two wins) but needs to bounce back quickly.
Usually seen to good effect around Stratford but not one for maximum faith given his past temperament issues. Not disgraced of late but has a fairly tough task at these weights away from his favourite course.
From a yard that have done well in this sphere and are steadily building their reputation. This one landed a selling handicap last month at Fakenham and he's one of the leading players in this modest event.
Veteran who is not getting any younger and looks regressive and despite two C&D wins faces a very tough task here.
Form just getting worse and worse and very little to recommend him even in this lowly grade.
Unreliable sort on the Flat who failed to settle on his first try over hurdles at Huntingdon and finished well held. Drops in grade here but more needed to make an impression.
This yard are going well at the moment and this quirky sort ran well on his first start for this yard at Hereford last October in an open handicap. Now dropped in grade and sure to travel well it's just a question of how much he fins when asked.
Looking as though he's rather lost his way of late but this is a marked drop in grade. He has something to find at the weights though and comes from a yard that is struggling for winners.
Forecasts
Octagon (6/5), Cliffside Park (2/1), Akula (7/1), Astrum (8/1), Trendsetter (10/1), Nonno Giulio (50/1), Hi Tide (50/1), L'Es Fremantle (100/1)
Most of threes can be fairly easily dismissed with the race looking to boil down to a match between Cliffside Park and the quirky but talented OCTAGON. The weights favour the latter based on the official ratings it will just be a matter of him putting it all in. Trendsetter has been capable of better in the past but his stable are struggling at the moment and that may allow Astrum or Akula to grab the minor place.
- Octagon
- Cliffside Park
- Astrum
