Took advantage of sliding mark to score at Fairyhouse (6f, heavy) 12 days ago, making all as she did. Carries 6lb penalty for that success but, dropping in trip, would be dangerous if allowed a free reign on the front end.
Hasn't built on a Down Royal maiden victory from last year so far this season. Produced best effort at Navan (5f, soft) when second of 17 last month but went out like a light next time at Fairyhouse on testing ground over 6f.
Reliable sort who gained the seventh turf success of his career last-time-out at Navan (5f, heavy), showing typical tenacity to do so. On a career-high mark as a result but cannot be ruled out.
Filly had been out of form before taking advantage of sliding rating to win a 45-65 affair at Ballinrobe (5f, good) in August. Best of her form would see her in the mix here from a promising draw.
Won her maiden over 5f at Redcar in June, acquitted herself well in three starts since arriving in Ireland. Trainer going well and one of two live chances in this contest for the yard.
No win since 2015 maiden at Down Royal (5f, good to firm), best effort this season came over 6f at Navan in September and liable to find a few of these rivals too strong.
Capable of winning races (career record 8-63), front running tactics didn't work out recently at Navan (5f, heavy) when fourth behind Doonard Prince, beaten 2½L. Entitled to be closer on revised terms.
Just the four starts so far and nothing to suggest the gelding can land this prize, tailed off over a mile at Dundalk in midweek on first start for this handler.
Ex Richard Fahey trained filly, picked up for £13,000 at Goffs in Doncaster. No show on either start at the Curragh or Navan (both over longer trips) for this handler and may again find the conditions underfoot going against her.
Likeable sort doesn't off fail to give his running, with a win over 7f at Ayr in August to show for a good summer's work. Has never run over the minimum trip before but could be on a decent mark if he takes to it.
Filly has won at Cork and Roscommon this season (both over 7f) but remains 9lb above latest winning mark. Couple of runs last month, including dropped to this trip (off a break) don't inspire confidence.
Eight-race maiden who will have to improve significantly to land a telling blow in this field, wears first-time visor but doesn't appeal on these terms.
Forecasts
Doonard Prince (7/2), Truffles (4/1), Harry Speed (5/1), Lily's Prince (6/1), Haqeeba (8/1), Flawlessly (8/1), Accalia (14/1), Aspen Belle (16/1), Independence Day (16/1), Night Law (25/1), Elegant Emmeline (25/1), Calypso Jo (33/1)
Doonard Prince arrives here in superb form having won two of his last four and won't go down without a good scrap, but he's on career-high mark now and that might tell. Likewise, Truffles was impressive last time in scoring at Fairyhouse but may find the penalty too much this time. Harry Speed is one to keep an eye on, off a potentially useful rating tackling this trip for the first time while Flawlessly (stablemate to Truffles) could mount a bold bid for a yard going well. ACCALIA produced a fine effort over this trip at Navan last month when second and it might pay to forget her subsequent flop at Fairyhouse, where she was too poor to be true. A replication of her previous effort would see her in the firing line at a decent price.
- Accalia
- Doonard Prince
- Flawlessly
