Struggling in mid-division when fell at the last at Huntingdon last month. That was his third fall in under a year so no surprise Johnson looks elsewhere. Still 4lb higher than best winning mark.
On the go throughout the summer and won twice over this C&D. Also won C&D in August 2016. Not disgraced twice since and go well 4lb higher than latest win now back to his favourite course.
121 rated hurdler who won one race. 22L last of six on chasing debut last month and risky proposition here against experienced chasers.
Chasing debut started with promise under a positive ride at Worcester but he ended up finishing tamely. Similar tale back over hurdles at same venue last time and blinkers now added.
8½L fourth of seven last time out over hurdles at Warwick after a layoff. Lone chase run last June when beaten 21L into fourth of eight. Not too convincing that day hence back to hurdles since.
Landed a four timer last season (three over fences) before pulling up at Ludlow where he jumped poorly. 5lb higher than latest win still but no saying he can't continue upward curve this season.
Won a couple of races last season for today's rider who has been onboard for all three career wins. Tailed off when last seen but presumably not right there so summer break will have helped. Can't be ruled out.

Forecasts
Play The Ace (6/4), Amber Gambler (5/1), Kalifourchon (6/1), Allthegear No Idea (13/2), Milord (7/1), Leith Hill Lad (8/1), Fields of Glory (9/1), Beau Du Brizais (10/1), Until Winning (14/1)
PLAY THE ACE loves it round here and he can gain a fourth course and distance success today with fitness and recent form both positive. Allthegear No Idea has been running well also and should continue to be competitive off today's handicap while Kalifourchon could be a danger if livened up by first time blinkers.
