Has produced a couple of solid efforts coming back off a break, tried to make all at Newton Abbot last time but ran out of it late. Up in trip today and yard still struggling for winners, but can't be discounted.

Some useful novice hurdle form to his name, and ran a cracker on final start of last year when third in ultra-competitive Grade 3 handicap at Sandown. Trip should suit and surely more to come this year. Looks a player if fit.

Looked to need time as a juvenile and also to be crying out for further based on her second here in January, where she stayed on well. May want slightly slower ground but one of the more interesting ones here.

Gran Maestrob13

Has no secrets from the handicapper and although he picks up the odd race when conditions are right, meets some improving sorts here and might find he's biting off a bit more than he can chew.

Royale Djangop26
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-1| J: R Johnson| T: Tim Vaughan| OR:  107| D
7/1
Has fallen back to a very attractive looking mark on the best of his form, better on last two starts and may be up to winning again, with conditions here ideal. Top jockey booked and can't be easily discounted.

Mondellot37
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-10| J: H Cobden| T: R Woollacott| OR:  102

Still a maiden over hurdles but has run some reasonable races, sticking to the task at Uttoxeter last time and looking worth a go at this trip. Needs another step forward but that's not impossible.

Filatorep179
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-2| J: S Bowen| T: B J Llewellyn| OR:  94| C
12/1
Dual-purpose horse that knows his way around here backwards, second here over hurdles in March but that was soft ground and three miles, so faces different conditions here. Opposable for win purposes as overall strike rate is a poor one.

Sahara Haze18
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-1| J: Ben Jones(7)| T: P C Dando| OR:  93
40/1
Stays very well in soft ground, so may not find this enough of a stamina test, but on a fair mark and may strip fitter for her most recent outing. Still a maiden after 15 starts though, so others preferred.

Forecasts

Wylde Magic (5/4), Ramses De Teillee (9/2), Culture De Sivola (6/1), Royale Django (7/1), Mondello (10/1), Filatore (12/1), Gran Maestro (16/1), Sahara Haze (40/1)

Verdict

Rameses De Tellee is likely to make a bold bid from the front but the David Pipe yard is still having a lean time of it at present, and preference is for CULTURE DE SIVOLA and Wylde Magic , both of whom look likely improvers this season. Preference os for Nick Williams' inmate, who looks in need of a trip like this to show his best and he can take this at Wylde Magic's expense. Royale Django is worth consideration.
  1. Culture De Sivola
  2. Wylde Magic
  3. Royale Django
