Had some fair form over fences when trained in Ireland but has made only a limited impact over hurdles of late when in the care of Anabel Murphy. Now looks an obvious one to improve as many have from this yard this season already.
His form in bumpers when trained in Ireland was only modest and hasn't shown anything better over hurdles. Now goes handicapping for the first time although it's rather hard to say that the mark of 100 is lenient.
Course winner who never looked that happy over fences but found a weak race here over hurdles in March off an 11lb lower mark. Failed to follow-up that win in a hurdle and a chase and now reverts to hurdles off a break.
Looks one of the more consistent sorts in this having been placed in four of her last five starts. Ran with credit last time out over 2m4f at Hexham on her return from a break and one of the more likely types here.
Showed some reasonable form for his previous yard (Chris Gordon) but has made very little impact for his current yard. Needs a test of stamina which he gets here but needs to come back to form.
Took advantage of a slide in the weights to score at Perth in May to record his first win. Looked rather disinterested in two of his three starts since although he did show more last time out. Still looks one to be wary of overall though.
Gave no notice of the improvement that he showed to win at Newcastle in January where he won with plenty in hand off a lowly mark. Two subsequent runs weren't up to the same standard but not totally written off back from a break.
Makes his first start over hurdles since 2013 but hard to fancy even in this company having hardly shown much over fences of late.
Showed limited ability on a few starts for her previous yard and mark has been falling lately. Not unduly knocked about on stable debut four weeks ago and looks interesting under a good Wiltshire based conditional.
A bumper winner on his second start he's never really showed that much over hurdles often struggling with his jumping. Showed just about his first form on handicap debut last time although that form still has very little depth to it.
Has managed a second in a handicap since she left her former yard but her overall profile is inconsistent and her recent form doesn't inspire. Runs from 7lb out of the handicap here and others have a more solid chance.
Forecasts
Wood Pigeon (5/2), Spoils Of War (5/1), Rivabodiva (7/1), Poetic Presence (8/1), Mileva Roller (9/1), Knocklayde (9/1), Chu Chu Percy (10/1), Mcginty's Dream (14/1), Little Fritz (20/1), The Bishop (22/1), Letemgo (25/1)
This trip could well take some getting and although Mileva Roller was eye-catching last time out this trip may well find her out. Wood Pigeon is of obvious interest given his connections and it won’t be a surprise to see him step up on what he has achieved so far and being well supported to do so. Grand National winning trainer Lucinda Russell runs two here with RIVABODIVA looking the best of the pair and she may at last may be able to get off the mark. McGinty’s Dream may be best caught fresh and would have a major chance on his Newcastle win at the beginning of the year.
- Rivabodiva
- Wood Pigeon
- Mcginty's Dream
