Like many who have gone to this yard he bettered his previous efforts when finishing second on his stable debut. The handicapper keeps him on the same mark here and with a top rider booked he looks sure to have a leading chance.

Won a novice hurdle here in January on bad ground over 2m but was well beaten on his handicap debut over hurdles stepped up in trip off today's mark. Now goes chasing for the first time although this mark looks tough.

From stable that has made a good start to the season the addition of a tongue-tie appeared to work the oracle over hurdles with two wins being recorded in that "headgear" at Towcester. Looks the sort to go well over fences and will enjoy the ground.

Well Above Par33
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-0| J: D R Fox| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR:  112

Only lightly-raced over hurdles and quickly switched to fences after a six month break and shaped as though this will be more his forte. Bred for this sphere and stepped up in trip here for his second chasing start and improvement expected.

May well come into his own now that he tackles fences having won in point-points in the past. Showed that he had ability in maiden hurdles without totally blowing his cover and an interesting contender for a shrewd yard.

Has shown some fair form over hurdles in the past and looked to have matched that form in some placed efforts over fences last season. Capable of taking a hand here but could well have run in to a couple of decent types in this.

Didn't really live up to his earlier promise over hurdles last year despite a few placed efforts. Was shaping well on his chase debut when falling four out (had made earlier errors) but not one to totally write off on his second try over fences.

Lochnell192
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-7| J: Henry Brooke| T: I A Duncan| OR:  105| CD
12/1
C&D winner over hurdles and consistent in that sphere winning by 12L off a mark of 102 in March but failed to compete off higher marks in two subsequent start. Just the one try over fences previously (finished second) but lacks scope for chasing.
9

Backinthesaddlet33
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-3| J: B S Hughes| T: S R B Crawford| OR:  97

A winning hurdler last year for a different yard he shaped well enough on his chase/stable debut last time out albeit he was tenderly handled and looked as though he needed the run. Open to improvement but is 4lb out of the weights here.

Horse silk
Here Comes Lovet22
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-3| J: S Mulqueen(3)| T: W Young Jnr| OR:  78
250/1
Maiden hurdler who really hasn't taken to chasing and looks out of his depth here from way out of the weights and would be a surprise winner.

Forecasts

Socksy (4/1), Royal Plaza (4/1), Star Tackle (4/1), Robintheaulad (9/2), Well Above Par (6/1), Lochnell (12/1), Backinthesaddle (12/1), Buffalo Ballet (14/1), Glingerside (28/1), Here Comes Love (250/1)

Verdict

An interesting event and there are plenty with chances in this and Royal Plaza will more than likely be towards the head of the market having run well on his debut for this yard at Huntingdon. He faces quite a challenge in this though and STAR TACKLE is one of the interesting debutantes from a stable that now the time of day in this sphere. Well Above Par and Socksy are the two others that are expected to make their mark in this sphere with the former already having had some experience in this sphere. Backinthesaddle and Robintheauldlad are two others that will be of interest in this and add to what is a competitive event.
  1. Star Tackle
  2. Socksy
  3. Royal Plaza
