Won a bumper at Sligo in August, but first attempt at hurdling at Thurles produced only limited promise. Needs to improve on that display.

Winner on the Flat but, surprisingly, is 0-9 over hurdles. Has hit the crossbar a few times in fair company, however, and sets the standard. for his in-form stable.

Bumper winner who made a pleasing start over timber when third to the brilliant, but ill-fated Fayonagh at Fairyhouse. Nothing of that mare's calibre in this and has a solid chance given normal improvement.

Beaten a long way in a bumper and a hurdle. No obvious reason why he should get involved on his return from a break.
By leading jumps stallion Westerner out of an Oscar mare. Appealing pedigree and well worth a market check on debut for good stable.
After three decent runs in ordinary bumpers, he makes his hurdling debut. Should be competitive if taking to jumping.
Son of Yeats out of a Phardante mare, he cost €32,000 last year. Likely to need the experience on debut, but should do well long-term given his breeding.

Wore a hood on his hurdling debut at Thurles and was sent off at 100-1 before falling at the fourth. Best watched for the time being.
Let The Lion Roar gelding. who is a half-brother to fairly useful chaser Zest For Life and was relatively cheaply-purchased at €6,500. Tailed off on debut at Gowran Park and hard to make a case for on that display.
Flemensfirth gelding from the family of top-class staying hurdler Lady Rebecca, he cost €36,0000 as a foal. Appealing pedigree and represents a leading owner, so well worth monitoring in the betting.

Son of Thewayyourare out of a Linamix mare who cost €30,000 as a three-year-old. Showed promise on debut in a Killarney bumper and is one to note on his hurdling debut.
Gelding with an American pedigree, he fetched only €2,200 as a three-year-old. Does not leap off the page and is best watched on debut.

Has shown plenty of promise in two bumpers, the latter quite a valuable one. Represents a top trainer/jockey combination and is very much one to keep an eye on tried over hurdles for the first time.

Two runs in bumpers have seen her beaten a long way at big prices. Needs to show considerable improvement for this switch to hurdles.

Verdict

Some promising types make this an interesting opener. Icario and Vladakar have claims for their leading owner, while Take The Floor has a nice pedigree and is worth a market check on debut. The selection, though, is ROSERIVER HAS, who made a pleasing start over hurdles behind the brilliant, but sadly-departed Fayonagh and has the services of a top-class jockey. Eamon High and Templemore Dream are others to consider.
  1. Roseriver Has
  2. Vladakar
  3. Icario
