Horse A-Z
Scored on debut at Hexham in August and was beaten just 1L (9L clear of the third) under a penalty at Perth last time. Should again be capable of giving a very good account.

Not an overwhelming amount of stamina in his Flat pedigree, but will probably be plying his trade over shorter trips when he tries obstacles. Trainer 0-15 in this sphere, so he is probably one to watch on his racecourse debut.

Changed hands for £20,000 in June after running 5L second in an Irish point-to-point (3m, good). Trainer's runners have been catching the eye and this is his first in a bumper, so looks one to note in the market.

Cost €22,000 at three. Half-brother to a point-to-point winner, out of an unraced half-sister to bumper/2m-3m hurdle/chase winner Titian Blonde. Trainer has a 16% strike rate in this sphere, so no surprise if he shows up well on debut.

Dam is an unraced half-sister to a bumper winner, though this gelding was tailed off on his sole start at Catterick last December. Trainer 1-35 in this sphere in past five seasons, so looks one to watch for now.

7-1 but beaten over 3f out on his debut in a Market Rasen bumper last month. Should be capable of improvement, though that will need to be significant if he is to have a major say in this.

16-1 and never dangerous for the last 5f of his Carlisle debut in April. There is enough in his pedigree to suggest that he is not one to write off prematurely, but it takes a leap of faith to see him finding enough improvement to win this time.
Half-sister to three bumper winners and out of an unraced half-sister to a bumper winner, so plenty in pedigree to suggest that she will be effective in this discipline. Stable yet to have a bumper winner, but has only had 11 attempts. Market check.

Forecasts

Imperial Elixir (11/10), Buy Mistake (15/8), Fresh New Dawn (7/2), Absolutely Dylan (12/1), Sammylou (16/1), Theatre Legend (25/1), Siannes Star (25/1), Animated Hero (33/1), Bit Of A Geordie (33/1), Lawtop Legend (66/1)

Verdict

Buy Mistake again has to be taken very seriously despite his penalty and with experience on his side, he is very much respected. However, he is also vulnerable at the weights to a newcomer with a bit of potential and that could come in the form of IMPERIAL ELIXIR. Fergal O'Brien has a decent record in bumpers and his gelding has some success in this sphere in his pedigree. With the yard in good form, perhaps he could be the one for today. Fresh New Dawn is a very interesting first bumper representative for his emerging trainer and Bit Of A Geordie stands out on pedigree for this type of contest, so she has to enter calculations.
  1. Imperial Elixir
  2. Buy Mistake
  3. Bit Of A Geordie
