Excuses on heavy ground on his hurdling debut at Perth last month. Probable that he can do a fair bit better than that on the the forecast ground here and he is a likely improver.
Runner-up in successive 1m1f maidens (both on good to soft) on the Flat on his first two runs for this trainer in August and ran well for a long way on hurdles debut at Wetherby. Room for improvement and that could come today.
Yet to make the frame from six starts on the Flat, the four this year being over 1m-1m2f. Dam stayed 1m6f, so there may well be sufficient stamina for this venture and he is likely to be well prepared, though he also looks one to watch on debut.

75-rated Flat performer who was in the process of running a good race on his hurdling debut at Cartmel before blundering at the last. Saw enough there to suggest that with a clear round he will be a leading player this time.

Won over 1m1½f (stays 1m4f) for Jim Bolger in Ireland in July and rated 68 in that sphere. Gelded since his last run and also moved to new yard. Dam a winning half-sister to a 2m1f/2m2f hurdle winner and he is an interesting newcomer.

49-rated Flat performer who scored at Hamilton over 1m4f (soft) in August and who has been a 7L second on his hurdling debut at Uttoxeter (2m, good to soft) prior to that. Scope for improvement and has to enter calculations.

Largely out of sorts on the Flat in 2017, though did make the frame for the only time at Southwell (1m, AW) in March. Beaten 40L on hurdles debut at Wetherby last week, so will need to come on a fair bit for the experience to figure here.

Best effort on the Flat was over 1m (good to firm) in the spring. Hasn't really proved he stays beyond that, so this could be stretching him as appeared to be the case on his hurdles debut at Wetherby last week (finished 2L ahead of Midnight Man).

The best of these on the Flat (rated 89), where he is a decent performer at 1m5f-1m7f and best on good or softer ground. No obvious jumps pedigree, but shouldn't have a problem staying and if he can jump then he is likely to have strong claims.

Forecasts

Tor (4/9), Jamacho (9/2), Level Of Intensity (13/2), Haroon (12/1), Mick The Poser (14/1), Leopard (20/1), Akkadian Empire (25/1), Aladdin Sane (25/1), The Lady Rules (33/1), Midnight Man (50/1), Indian Vision (66/1), Mister Moosah (66/1)

Verdict

Jamacho may have a future over hurdles and could have finished much closer on debut at Cartmel but for a bad blunder at the last. He could do much better this time if he picks his hooves up. Level Of Intensity travels a long way for this hurdling introduction and a market check is advised, while Haroon could step up on his Wetherby form and get more closely involved. Mick The Poser is not as good as plenty of these on the level, but did well enough on his first start over hurdles to suggests that races such as this are within his compass, though the suggestion today is TOR. Iain Jardine's gelding will have it to prove over obstacles on his debut in this sphere, but he ticks plenty of other boxes.
  1. Tor
  2. Jamacho
  3. Level Of Intensity
