Showed that he was capable of useful form on the Flat still when running a sound race at Leicester last time out when second to Blakeney Point. Looked as though he needed a stiffer test there and gets that here and looks well-in at these weights.

6/1
Moody and difficult individual who hasn't won since the 2014 Chester Cup and always looks as though his temperament will get the better of him. This test will suit but likely to get behind and give himself too much to do.

40/1
A course regular who is often seen to good effect around here but is poorly in at the weights here and would have a far better chance in a handicap. Has been beaten in this before and that's likely to be the same story this time around.

Age: 5|  Weight: 8-11| J: G Lee| T: J G Given| OR:  67| CD
14/1
A consistent performer in long-distance handicaps around here she faces a much stiffer task in this. Would be a surprise winner at these weights and a place is the best she can hope for.

Dominating10
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-7| J: P J McDonald| T: C & M Johnston| OR:  91
6/4
A typically tough individual from this yard who has had a very productive season winning four handicaps at up to 2 miles. Straightforward sort from a yard that have won this three times in the last six years.

Forecasts

Minotaur (6/5), Dominating (6/4), Suegioo (6/1), La Fritillaire (14/1), Tuscan Gold (40/1)

Verdict

This looks to be a shoot-out between MINOTAUR and Dominating with the latter looking a tough and genuine sort who might not have the class of the former who was a classy sort when trained in France on the Flat. The temperamental Suegioo makes little appeal for win purposes but ought to be able to take a minor place with the other two in the field having little chance at the weights.
  1. Minotaur
  2. Dominating
  3. Suegioo
