Cost €47,000 and made good progress to win the last of his four starts in point-to-points in Ireland. A little to prove on rules debut but worth a check in the betting nonetheless.
Useful in point-to-points and made a smooth transition to win a Clonmel bumper when last seen in action. Off since May but the fact he swapped hands for £50,000 recently suggests he has plenty of scope and is certainly one to keep tabs on.

Steady improvement and was in the process of running a big race when unseating the rider here when last seen out. Given plenty of time since then, he looks another to keep on the right side and could easily put his experience to good use.

Adapted well to fences last season but is also effective over hurdles. Given that he's rated 142 over fences, he could well find novice company very much to his liking back over timber. Has to be considered as a leading player.

Modest performer on the Flat and hard to get too enthusiastic about his efforts over hurdles - even though he has hit the frame in each of his three starts. This looks tougher and he is likely to have settle for his usual supporting role.

Forecasts

Present Man (4/7), Jaisalmer (10/3), De Rasher Counter (11/2), Tynecastle Park (22/1), Circuit Court (33/1)

Verdict

A few interesting contenders on show, as the likes of De Rasher Counter and Circuit Court are both expensive recruits from the Irish point-to-point scene. Both look worthy of consideration of the market shows them in in a good light. However, PRESENT MAN is equally effective over hurdles and sets a good standard for the time being. Paul Nicholls' gelding will be very hard to master if he runs anywhere near the best of his chasing form.
  1. Present Man
  2. De Rasher Counter
  3. Circuit Court
