All five career wins have come on the AW (5-22 on artificial surfaces) and should be ready to go now after recent pipe-opener on turf recently. Feasibly treated with rider's claim.
Won a mile maiden at Lingfield in March 2012 sole previous AW try, dual-purpose performer has some credible efforts on turf/over hurdles this year and cannot be ruled out from fair mark.
All seven of her wins have been on AW surfaces, five of them at this track. Successful over C&D in January from mark of 85, though was poor last month at Chelmsford.
Impressive maiden winner over 1m4f at Thirsk in May 2016, highly-tried in most runs since at decent levels but hasn't offered much. Makes first foray into this sphere and one of two for trainer/owner in line-up.
Japanese-bred colt won a Yarmouth maiden on soft ground over 1m4f last back-end, been set some stiff tasks this season so far and run credibly on occasion. Handicap/AW bow and worth nothing, one of two for trainer.
Ex-Ballydoyle, a fair gelding on his day and capable of winning races over staying trips. Didn't find a lot over 2m at Ascot earlier this month when asked, could go well down in trip on first AW start.
Much-improved since being gelded, winning races at Chelmsford and Doncaster and finishing second twice, handicapper has gained control in two most recent outings but not totally out of the equation.
Completed a hat-trick of wins in January, two of them over 1m6f at this venue, is 12lb higher than most recent of those now back on AW and may want further to get best from him.
Was in useful form on the AW around the turn of the year scoring a hat-trick with the last win coming off this mark. Fit from recent outings on turf and could throw down a bid for this having run well on all three previous track visits.
Has been in the grip of the handicapper for some time now, yet to threaten in six runs this year, may remain there on return to the AW scene. Cheekpieces back on but 6lb above previous win-mark.
Hacked up in an AW maiden at Newcastle in May over 1m2f, but has been very underwhelming in trio of turf handicaps since. Another heavy defeat at Ascot (2m, soft) recently but first-time blinkers / return to AW could spark life into him.
Ran a stormer in big-field Royal Ascot handicap (1m4f, good to firm) in June, flattering to deceive on turf in eight runs since but handicap mark has plummeted as a result ahead of AW bow. Market check needed.
Forecasts
Master Singer (2/1), Kasperenko (3/1), Bear Valley (9/1), Fierce Impact (10/1), Eye of The Storm (10/1), Goldmember (11/1), Isharah (12/1), Cliff Face (12/1), Barye (16/1), Start Seven (40/1), Coillte Cailin (40/1), Forgotten Hero (66/1)
A fair few of these have points to prove and there is also the conundrum of some class-droppers and AW newcomers, so the betting is expected to be informative. Bear Valley ran a stormer at Royal Ascot this summer and shouldn't be underestimated on his AW bow off a career-low mark while Master Singer hacked up on his only previous AW outing (albeit in a maiden). Any support for either will be noted, while similar comments apply to the Simcock pair Fierce Impact and Goldmember who have been tried in much better races. Barye knows how to win on AW and is on a good mark but ISHARAH has yet to run a bad race in three visits to Dunstall Park and, back on his previous winning mark, is taken to build on a positive show at Chester on turf last month and build on his 33% AW strike rate.
- Isharah
- Master Singer
- Barye
