French recruit who was a big disappointment on his debut for this yard but proved that running all wrong when easily winning a handicap hurdle from a mark of 130 next time. An exciting recruit to chasing and yard is flying.
Four Flat wins on his CV and has established himself as a useful hurdler too with three victories, achieving a mark in the 120's. Interesting to see him move up to the larger obstacles but may just lack the scope of others.
Debut bumper winner who did well over hurdles for Nicky Henderson, winning easily over C&D on better ground in April before pushing Peak To Peak close at Chepstow. Looks a handy chasing recruit for his new yard but this is a tough baptism.
Point-to-point winner who kicked off with successive wins over hurdles, looking a useful prospect in the process. Something amiss when pulled up at Cheltenham on final start but makes a chasing debut with the soft ground in his favour. Respected.
Ultra-progressive over hurdles following a switch of yards and had won seven on the bounce prior to finding the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham a bit too much from a mark of 143. That high mark has forced connections to go chasing.
Has established himself as a high-class hurdler, achieving a rating of 157, though has only won the one race from 13 attempts over timber. Ran poorly in the big staying events at Cheltenham and Aintree but a very a notable recruit to chasing.
Forecasts
Brelan D'As (6/4), West Approach (7/4), Tobefair (6/1), Kimberlite Candy (8/1), Jameson (10/1), Eddiemaurice (50/1)
West Approach was the highest-rated of these ever hurdles despite not winning often and is a very notable recruit to chasing but preference is for BRELAN D'AS. Paul Nicholls' dual French winner showed what he was capable of when dotting up in a handicap hurdle at Wincanton on his only start last season and looks an exciting chasing recruit with the yard in tremendous form. Tobefair and Kimberlite Candy add spice to a good contest.
