Fifteen race maiden on the Flat for Chris Wall and stamina to prove as he's never been tried beyond 1m2f in public before. Yard quiet just now, so possible he's best left to his own devices on his debut over hurdles.

Just a solitary win to his name on the Flat and not much encouragement to be taken from his starts over hurdles so far. Best watched on debut for a new yard.

Pedigree and form so far suggests he'll have no issues on this predicted rain soaked ground. Encountered a potentially decent type last time out and has to be respected on that effort. Looks the one to beat just now.

Useful handicapper at best during his time in Ireland and possible he'll thrive now he switches codes. Looks the pick of the stable's duo but the betting can guide as to further expectations.
5

Winning miler on the AW but recent form uninspiring. Hard to fancy on hurdles debut.
6
Horse silk
9/4
Bred for the Jumping game and posted a highly encouraging effort in a Bumper at Market Rasen last month. That run will have put him spot on for the switch to hurdling and he has to merit an interest in a modest looking race.

Forecasts

Holryale (8/11), Theclockisticking (9/4), Red House Hill (9/1), Ataman (16/1), Hatem (20/1), St Patrick's Day (100/1)

Verdict

Hard to escape the claims of HOLRYALE, who has already shown plenty of promise and appears to have been found a decent opportunity to get a confidence booster under his belt. Theclockisticking appeals as the one with the most scope from the rest and it would be very interesting if the market suggests he can make an immediate impact over hurdles. Red House Hill may also find this new phase of his career opens new doors and may be good value for the forecast slot.
  1. Holryale
  2. Theclockisticking
  3. Red House Hill
